I was at the Elmhurst game Saturday at Wheaton and the women played before the men so no JV game that I have been aware of.

I am ready to suit it up. A Double-double would look a lot more like double-trouble for me. I am also 6'9" (with an afro) so can do some damage. I have played basketball with Mugsy and he has a decent shot......

Ah yes... Mr. Fletch.

BTW... that should read "had a somewhat decent shot...".  Haven't played in a couple of years other than shootin' around with my nephews.  Besides, in high school my role was to get after it on defense and get the ball to Kent Graham and our other two 15+ point a game scorers.  A point that was emphasized again and again and again by the head coach.  I recall the head coach yelling "NOOOOOOO...." in the middle of my taking a wide open 15 footer when the defense sagged back Kent and our center (who was on the IWU team for 2 years before giving up basketball).  Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence coach!   :-\

I don't think that anyone in the CCIW is playing Saturday JV games. Or are they? Are there any schools out there that are hosting Saturday JV/women/men tripleheaders?

Don't think you're gonna get a straight answer Greg...but a lot of volunteers to start a jv league!

Perhaps not. But if there's a reader out there who has seen a North Central JV team or a Wheaton JV team or a Millikin JV team in action, who knows ... we may yet get some answers.

(I suspect that even some of the JV teams that are still operating are rather odd-looking combinations of players. F'rinstance, since Paul Brenegan decided to suit up David Williams full-time on the varsity, NPU has been down to two guards on the junior varsity, Tavaris Smith and Alexander Vicksen ... and neither one's a point guard.)

5 of IWU's 10 in the varsity rotation are sophomores (Jordan Zimmer, John Koschnitzky, Dan Schouten, Ryan Connolly, Stephen Rudnicki), but IWU is still fielding a JV team.  With the lack of CCIW teams playing JV, the Titans have scheduled games against the likes a Lincoln College (a JUCO)...a recent opponent.

For travel/expense purposes, I don't see how JV/women/men triple-headers are feasible.  I don't think we'll ever see that, will we?

Unfortunately, IWU recently lost starting JV point-guard Eliud Gonzalez to some type of knee injury...probably for the season.  Unfortunately Eliud's freshman season also ended with a knee injury (torn ACL).

AndOne

North Central does indeed have a JV team.
In fact the NCC JVs and the Elmhurst JVs are playing tomorrow at 5:15 before the varsity game at Elmhurst.

I also, am under the assumption that JV games on Sat are a thing of the past.

Greg, are you expecting a big crowd tomorrow night? I assume it won't be on the level of the Wheaton game, but I hope the 'Parkers are taking this rare opportunity to see their team in contention!

It's hard to say ... Wednesday games are a struggle in terms of getting a crowd, because so many NPU students take night classes nowadays. But I think that the crowd should be decent. I know that there's some Facebook chatter going on amongst the students about tomorrow night's game.

It'll probably be a late-arriving crowd, as the early set of night classes let out right before tipoff.
