Sorry guys, a link probably would have been more effective than my copy/paste method.

Story from Kenosha news talking about the similarities and differences of this years team and the team when Wiertel was a sophomore and McDaniel and Garnes were freshman.  Good insight from Bosko on how he sees the two teams.

Ralph, I hope you aren't saying that play is the reason McMurry lost by 16 pts that night?
Wheaton is very good and definitely 16 points better in the Lee Pfund in their own gym.

I am saying that that game was one where the coaches helped our team regroup psychologically and move on.  (I will stand by my statement.)

We had several other good games after that, but the game-to-game play for the season what not what we fans had hoped.  I am glad that our new head coach Matt Garnett had the chance to experience this season as well as an assistant.

We had real flashes of brilliance.  We beat UTD and UMHB on the road.  We were up by 1 point on D-1 UTSA (26-25) with 3 minutes left in the first half. The lack of bench depth to play with a D1 hurt us from that point onward. We laid real bummers against LeTU, ETBU, TLU and almost at SRSU and HPU.  This team had areas that did not perform as well as they should have.

Wheaton is a good team and they gave UMHB a real clinic on how the game is played.  That game showed us that the ASC really was down more than I thought.

I think that the loss of Jimmy Witten (6'6" 230 lb Jr 2VL) really would hurt UTD.  The UMHB-UTD box score shows that Witten "subbed out" at 2:08 of the game, so I am not sure of the veracity of the rumor.

We can see tomorrow night.

Anyone know if UTD will have a video feed? I only see live audio and stats links on their page...

Maybe if he had finished the monster slam they wouldn't have T'd him up:)
He did.  The basket was good.  He had gotten so high on the dunk that he was controlling his descent, and  making sure that no one was beneath him, while making the statement.

According to play by play account he got "credited" for a missed shot and then a Technical foul.
He did get credit for dunk near the end of game w/o a technical foul being called.  :)

I am not sure if UTD will have video.

UTD may have Bill Mercer doing the audio, tho'.  Mercer still in the MC at UTD game, too.

Bill Mercer is legendary in DFW as a radio announcer.  He teaches at University of North Texas, and UNT students do the webcasting over the UTD net.

I hope that he will do the broadcast.

Final: IWU 86, Central 81.

John Koschnitzky missed a chance to ice the game by making only 1 of 4 FTs at 14 and 5 seconds remaining, but Sean Johnson finally inserted the dagger with 2 FTs with 2 seconds remaining.  Sean finished with 24 points, Doug Sexauer added 19 and 11 rebounds.

I thought Dwyer made the play of the game with IWU up 3, Central had the ball with a little over 5 seconds left and Dwyer gets steal. Central fouls Johnson on the in bounds and Sean put it away.  Nice game by Johnson, Sexauer and Zimmer.  Bench did a good job in 1st half with Sexauer on the bench with two fouls.

Aah - CCIW goes 3-0 in round one! :)

Tomorrow it get tougher, especially for IWU (@ WashU).  Wheaton plays @ UT-Dallas, while Carthage hosts surprising Anderson (who knocked off #3 St. Thomas).

Here's to 3 in the Sweet 16 in a down year!! ;D

Actually CCIW went 5-0 as both Carthage and IWU women's team won.  And, a men's/women's sweep in round one by Carthage and IWU.  Congratulations to all our CCIW teams whom represented the conference well!!
