I seem to remember a pretty serious knee injury for Wallis a couple of years ago maybe.

UTD:
F 6-6 Jr Jimmy Witten 10.6 ppg, 6.1 reb

The announcer on the video last night said Witten tore his ACL on Sunday.

That would be a big blow to UTD since he is a 3 yr starter and their top rebounder. His size looks like a good matchup for McCrary although I expect Chris Barnes will step in and pick up those minutes.
Yes, Witten was the typical CCIW forward.  He would have been the best to have inside for the Comets.

That is a big loss for UTD.
Witten has not played tonight.  Less than 4 minutes left in the half.

Anyone know if UTD will have a video feed? I only see live audio and stats links on their page...
I am not sure if UTD will have video.

UTD may have Bill Mercer doing the audio, tho'.  Mercer still in the MC at UTD game, too.

Bill Mercer is legendary in DFW as a radio announcer.  He teaches at University of North Texas, and UNT students do the webcasting over the UTD net.

I hope that he will do the broadcast.
Bill Mercer is the voice of the public announcer that you hear on the webcast.

Interesting reverse stat of Wheaton UT game.  UT usually averages 25 3 attempts a game has 5.  Wheaton average 14 a game has 14 in first half.

OK!  Let the speculation begin.  Where's the IWU/Carthage game going to be?!

Congrats to IWU and Carthage....too bad the Thunder didn't make it a CCIW sweep.

thanks to the titans - north park still the only 3 in a row d3 champion
I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

What an amazing win for the Titans tonight. I think the manner in which they won was the most impressive.  I'm not going to say they dominated, but they were pretty much in control of the entire game.  I watched on the excellent video feed on Wash U's site while having the Live stats up and the women's live stats on too (women dominated in a 83-53 win).  And while I always had the feeling the Bears were going to make a run and take over, it just never happened.

A historic year for IWU basketball keeps getting better.

IWU and Carthage both have men and women advance.

You did have something nice to say about IWU tonight.   ;)   :D

Congrats to IWU on a great game.  Best of luck to the Titans for the rest of tourney.  It has been a joy to watch the IWU-WashU battles while my nephew has been a part of the Bears the past four years.  Great game!

Well 2010 is an even year, and in even years the women have priority for sectional hosting.........and with both the IWU and Carthage women having a chance to host sectionals.....this one could be going to UW Stevens Point.

But I think Carthage gets the nod for the men, their women should be going to St. Louis. IMO

Congrats to the Titans, on a spectacular game!

The Carthage IWU game is going to be great on Friday!  Here's to hoping Carthage hosts again! :)

I think this depends where the Women's sectional is...  IWU plays UWSP, Hope plays Marymount... since the other 3 teams have just 1 loss, I wouldn't think that UWSP's women would host, but that is the only thing that might prevent Point from hosting.

I think that the Hope women would probably host that women's sectional, which would leave UWSP open... and then it would be against SP and Carthage.

I don't now how they would match up head to head... Point was #2 in the West and Carthage was #2 in the Midwest.  Point has a higher SOS at .578 (11th) vs .561 (26th).  Carthage has a marginally better regional winning percentage (18-3  .857) vs Point (22-4 .846), but Point has more regional wins.

Point was 4-3 against regionally ranked opponents, with a W over #1 Whitworth, #3 Whitewater, and #4 St. Thomas.  Carthage played a number of those games by virtue of the fact that multiple conference teams ranked.
