Mr. Ypsi

Bennett Blakeman, alas, carded an 85 today (+14) to finish dead last.  Still, I'm sure, some marvelous memories.

This news is probably 7-8 hours old, but my older son got married this evening, so I hope I can be forgiven this slacking of reportage duties. :P ;D

As to the wedding -  :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

My understanding is that Jonathan DeMoss began the last school year at Augie. If so, does anyone know if he left before or after the official start of basketball practice? I had heard he attended a few practices before leaving, but have no way of knowing if this is true. If so, would he not have to sit out this year at Wheaton under Article III, Section One of the CCIW By-Laws as shown below?

ARTICLE III: ELIGIBILITY.

Section 1: Transfers.    A transfer who participated in a sport at another conference school shall not be eligible to participate for a second CCIW school in that sport until one year after the student's last season of participation at his or her first school. For this bylaw, "participation" shall be defined as practice and/or competition at any time. (revised 1/09).

Or, am I interpreting the rule incorrectly?

Jonathan practiced for about a week. He quit on October 23. I'm not sure when he actually withdrew from school. My understanding was that because he didn't practice after the season started (games), he would be eligible this year. The clause you site would seem to contradict that. I'm not sure which is right, but I'd be willing to bet that Jonathan will be playing for Wheaton this season.

Also, a nice article about Rick Harrigan and his involvement with Gallaudet University and the Deaf International World Basketball Championships:

I don't know, cardinalpride.  My guess is that summer is just a lot easier from a facilities standpoint...but that is just a guess.
