Incidentally, since the new trend around here is JV updates, last night North Park's JV defeated Concordia's JV, 54-47. Deon Lockhart led the Vikings with 18 points, while Mike Henley chipped in 12 and Josh McNaughton added 10.

IWU hosts the Titan Tip-Off Tournament this weekend.  Tonight's schedule:

6:00pm - Buena Vista vs Ripon
8:00pm - IWU vs Aurora

Here are some probable starters and links...

http://www.iwuhoops.com/notes11.htm

I knew about Gillespie at Ripon, but had no idea they have a second 20+ ppg scorer.  That has to be very rare.

Ripon is picked 2nd in the MWC behind nationally ranked St. Norbert...Buena Vista is picked 2nd in the IIAC behind Loras...Aurora is picked 2nd in the NathCon South, behind Concordia...IWU is picked 2nd in the CCIW.

Aurora has a whole new cast, including 2 transfers and a freshman in the starting lineup.

The Wesleyan coach is pleased with the progress of injured starters John Koschnitzky (back) and Jordan Zimmer (foot).

"We want to be cautious with John. It will still be a week or two before he gets on the floor (for practice)," said Rose. "Jordan is doing better than anticipated. He's already weight bearing. But we're still targeting second semester (for an early January return)."

Greg, you missed the mention of the term 'brain dead zombies' in your analysis... ;D ;D ;D

let's see   soft, scared, stupid brain dead zombies... yes , I think that gives us an idea of how they played.....

...stupid brain dead zombies...

Is it me, or is that straight from the department of redundancy department?

Or are there intelligent brain dead zombies that just haven't made themselves known?

Actually... that might make sense.  All brain dead zombies that I've ever seen or heard about (usually immortalized in film) go staggering about with many grunting or wailing/screaming noises (I'm thinking along the lines of 28 Days/Weeks Later).  This is far from subtle and makes their intentions well known.  If you can hear the undead coming from a block away, you know which direction to run.

On the other hand, if intelligent brain dead zombies were introspective and realized the reception that they would receive based purely on their decaying appearance, and thus changed their behavior to lurk in the shadows and sneak up on their victims-to-be unawares, then they would likely have much more success at attacking and then disembowling said victims.

Perhaps these intelligent brain dead zombies DO exist and we just don't know it!  Whatever shall we do if this is the case?!

I don't agree with the "zombies" description of NPU's performance on Wednesday, hopefan, because "zombies" implies a lack of emotion. The Vikings had plenty of emotion. Unfortunately, they were negative emotions: Frustration, anxiety, anger, etc.

I would like to wish our own, Titan Q, a very happy birthday today! I'm sure he is hoping for a couple of Titan wins for his birthday present. Happy Birthday Bob!

Hey Q, Happy Birthday!  Will I see you at the Shirk this weekend?  I'm around a few more days, then, sadly, my sabbatical leave from Chinese University of Hong Kong ends and I must return to Asia.  Glad to say I will see the "tip-off" games this weekend, then one game of the women's team Tueada vs. UW Whitewater, before flying to Hong Kong just after Thanksgiving weekend.

Had my 40th IWU class reunion this past October -- a grand and glorious affair -- and saw Ypsi there too.  We tipped a glass to Tommy Gramkow '70, for that most famous jumpshot in IWU basketball history  . . . or at least one of the most famous shots.  Tommy was there in fine form, receiving the plaudits and kudos from the entire Class of '70 during our reunion dinner.  Tommy was great, thanking Lee Short (also in attendance)  for "letting me in" and making it possible for making that shot against ISU in the final game.   A wonderful part of IWU basketball tradition and history.

Hope you and your family are well.  Go Titans!!! (men and women!!).  Looks to be a very exciting CCIW season.  I have very much enjoyed being on the IWU campus all Fall.  So many good things happening here at IWU.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the D3Hoops chatsters.  MLS

Thanks, guys.  Getting ready to head out with the little lady and some friends.  3-9 today, so I'm now officially "on the clock" for the biggie.

And yes Ryan, just hoping for a win by the Titans this evening!

Tonight's game was living proof that if you play without enthusiasm like you are brain dead zombie that chances are very good that you are not going to play a very good game.

please note - i did NOT use the word 'stupid' in this post.
I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

I would think that "brain dead" is even more emphatic than "stupid"! :D

Carthage beat Bethany Lutheran tonight 108-92. Crazy up and down game with a ton of fouls, both teams with probably around 30 for the game.  Close throughout the first half with Carthage trailing most of the half but took the lead going into halftime. Steve D. finishes with 35 points and 7 assists to set up a top 20 match up with John Carroll tomorrow.
