Congrats to a lot of happy Titan fans and also to Ol' Faithful, Mark/AndOne.  Looking forward to a great weekend of basketball at the hangar in Naperville!

Yes, congrats to Mark ... but he's only been waiting for seven years. The people I'd really like to congratulate the most are the long-term NCC fans who've been waiting since 1990 for this title.

I would have done that too, but wasn't sure if there were any of them on the board these days.   :-\

Probably not. I'm not sure how far back cardpride goes.
I do go back to that 90 team! Its been a long time coming! Thanks!

Millikin loses an absolute heartbreaker, 85-82. Down by as much as 15 in the second half, the Big Blue rallied and closed the gap to within three down the stretch. Trailing 83-80 with ten seconds left, an unlikely outside shooter for MU, center Kyle Taylor (29 pts, 9 rebs), attempted a three. He was fouled and went to the line with the chance to tie the game by making all three FTs. He missed the first, made the second and third. MU was forced to foul, James Robertson hit both FTs for Elmhurst, and a final trey attempt to tie by MU senior Justin Thompson was off the mark.

Millikin finishes a CCIW all-time-worst 1-23, 0-14. I feel very badly for those guys, who took their final two games of the season right down to the wire. My heart really goes out in particular to senior Kyle Taylor, who is going to be seeing that missed free throw in his sleep for awhile, methinks.

I hope NCC's season ends the same way its '90 season did! :)

It's interesting how just a couple of weeks ago people were speculating about the possibility of Augie being the first team in 38 years to run the table in CCIW play ... and yet, at the end of the day, Augie and North Central tied for the title with comparatively pedestrian 11-3 records.

This makes five times in the past six seasons that the CCIW champion or champions has finished with an 11-3 record.

Congrats to Ron Rose and the Titans for a great win tonight.

And, I add my congrats to Stevie D for his amazing CCIW career at Carthage.

Doug Sexauer, as really needed, is picking it up these last several games.  Hope the Titans can continue to put all the pieces together in a more comprehensive and complete way.

Titan women finish tonight, the regular season at 21-4, CCIW 13-1.  Congrats to Coach Smith and the Titans.  Keep it rolling ladies!

Give me more of that green kool-aide . . . I'm ready to drink some at North Central too.

If individual assists records were kept by the league, he'd own all of them.

Congratulations upon an absolutely phenomenal career, Steve. You were a pleasure to watch ... when you weren't playing NPU, that is. Get well soon after you have your foot operation, and best of luck to you in Europe, South America, or wherever you end up playing next season.

Nice shot. Titans got it done.

Either way though, it will be a tough road for the Thunder.

And Ypsi, I know of no good Norwegian soccer player. Biathlete yes, but nothing doing on the pitch.

Since IWU made the Final Four in 2006, I could live with that! ;D

Final from Shirk:

Illinois Wesleyan 70
Augustana 68

Doug Sexauer hit a baseline jumper with one second left to win it.

Next Friday in Naperville:

#2 Augustana (22-3) vs. #3 Wheaton (18-7)
#4 Illinois Wesleyan (18-7) @ #1 North Central (15-10)

I can't believe we were talking just a few weeks ago about the "20-0" or whatever Augustana team, and today they're not the conference champions!  How quickly things can change in the CCIW.
