Absolutely.  I feel the same way about the seniors.   They have worked through a lot this year and it is nice to see them rewarded with post season play.

Mr. Ypsi

Now that the selection committee has stunned many of us (and appalled many around the country - IWU is getting discussed, negatively, on more boards than any other team in the country :P), let's not be content we just getting in.

The first game is a tougher match than the Titans are used to getting (WIAC's #2), but UWRF is reeling, having lost 5 of their last 6 games.  IF we win that one, we face St. Thomas (presumably) on their home court.  On the other hand, this (minus Sean Dwyer) is the same team as last year who had to face #1 WashU on their own floor.  May lightning strike in consecutive years! :D

A shot very long, at the buzzer, more than half-court, just as time runs off the shot clock, a heave and a prayer  -- it's up, it's good --- Yes and the Titans make into the NCAA Tournament!

Congratulations Titans!!  Congratulations Augustana!! (except should you play IWU , again)

Very nice to get two CCIW teams into the tournament and thank-you to the Midwest Committee Chair for a great job.

No one from the CCIW should ever complain about this system ever again.

Maybe someone with a better memory recall than me can answer this, but isn't this 3 out of 4 years the CCIW has placed perhaps the last team in the field?

I thought Wheaton in 08 might have been, IWU this year, I just can't remember how the last two tournament selections played out.

It is true that River Falls has lost 5 of their last 6... but 4 of those 5 losses were on the road to top-4 WIAC opponents (including 2 to Stevens Point).  Road wins were hard to come by in the WIAC this year... only 2 teams were above .500 on the road; Stevens Point (6-2) and River Falls (5-3).

... And yes, I acknowledge that the game at St. Thomas isn't at River Falls (duh...) but it'll be more of a home game than a neutral court game for RF because 1) they've played there before and 2) It's about 420 miles closer to St Thomas than IWU.

I think it should be a pretty darn good ball game.

I don't think IWU will take River Falls lightly at all.   I, too, hope that it will be a darn good game.  I also hope IWU's history of knocking off the first and second ranked teams in the country in the playoffs, continues.

Ron Rose will be on Hoopsville at 4:30pm CST.

Q, any chance Travis is able to come back in the postseason?

Mr. Ypsi

I tuned in late and caught only the last few seconds of Coach Rose's interview - what was his answer?

buf

Maybe/maybe not.  He is going to see the doctor tomorrow.

TitansIWU

Now IF Travis can come back, how do you play that if you are Coach Rose?

Do you look at it like you just got stronger with his addition, or is he not in tournament form if there is such a thing?

I hope for his sake he can come back, at least dress, and be ready to be called on for some minutes.

He really deserves that.

Ron said that he would have to be cleared by the doctor after he went through the series of tests.  I got the impression that if he passed those tests, he would be able to dress and see some minutes. Anyone else take it that way?
I sure hope he gets that chance.  I know it is probably pretty hard to sit back and watch, not being able to participate.
