(Yes, I know this is a basketball board):

I was told today by the IWU Student Senate President that IWU will start on an experimental basis doing a live video stream for this Saturday's IWU-Aurora football game.  The hope is longer term that there will also be a live video streaming system in Shirk for basketball.  Stay tuned for further developments.  Let's hope this is coming to be for the coming basketball season, for men and women's basketball.

For football this weekend (1 p.m. Saturday) you can find the live video stream link on the IWU sportspage website, on the football page. . . Next to the link for audio and for "live stats."  FYI.

IWU is 2-0 so far in football having beaten Hope and Alma, faces Aurora on Saturday to end the pre-CCIW season games.  Lots to be a strong team, a good season, with excellent defense and young, emerging office.  Watch for T. J. Stinde to be the all time leading rusher in IWU history, at the end of the day in three year's time.  The Titans open with Wheaton at home, 6 p.m. on October 1st, after the bye week.

Hope all CCIW basketball chatsters are well.

saw wheaton's announcement that the new AD is Julie Davis an alum who has been on the athletics staff since 2004.  any reaction to this hire?  somehow, i picture her struggling to deal with some of the current coaches.

OK, you've piqued my curiosity. Care to elaborate on that last sentence, 'rouser?

Somehow, I picture you not knowing what you're talking about. You probably do not work in the department, so how you came to this statement must be A.) conjecture or B.) hearsay from a dubious source.

Hum, maybe 'rouser does not understand the concept of 'chain of command'; maybe the question better asked the other way around; and, hooray for Julie Davis. !

I agree with Sager.  Rouser, I am curious.  What do you mean by your last statement?

Don't want to go into too much detail.  I applaud Julie for getting the job.  But I stand by my statement and think some rough times may be ahead. After a short honeymoon period, just keep an eye on the dept. over the next three years.  Just an opinion, of course, but is my observation.  I wish her the best.

Anyone from Wheaton have a thought?

IWU dedicated a new press box facility for the Neis Field (soccer) yesterday.  A nice gift from a very loyal alumni couple.  In the write-up on it, mention is made of this new facility making in possible for a new video-streaming capability, so it seems video streaming for more and more IWU athletic events is now on the cards.  Seems Shirk (and basketball) will surely not be omitted from such a development.  Stay tuned basketball fans.

I can say as a fan that I think Julie Davis will do a great job.  She has been in that dept for many years now (since 2003) and has been preparing for this role as the Assistant Athletic Director according to the announcement.  it seems like there are nothing but positives about the hire.  Not sure where you are getting your information rouser but Julie will work well in her new role

Thundertaker, that is a good debut post and a great ID!  +k and welcome to the board.

Pete, you're showing four aces on your post total. Play some online poker during your break at work today. ;)

I prefer my aces to be 11 instead of 1...but even still that would be pocket aces. :P

AndOne/Mark, you might want to steal a page from new poster "The Thundertaker"'s page and come up with a crowd-pleasing, new screen name.  Who knew karmaklimbs were so readily available?
