Really seems Kman is in a slump, a funk of some sort.  He hasn't played very well since the Augie game.

Keep in mind, Koschnitzky has been playing with a stress fracture in his back all season long.  And at the NCC game he suffered a foot injury that is either a very bad bone bruise, a stress fracture, or a tendon problem (he had a doctor's appointment today - I have not heard the results).

Check out the brutal missed shot clock violation call at the end of the NYU @ Wash U women's game...

What a tough way to lose a game!

Wow, there is just no excuse for missing that.

That's the worst blown call I've seen in years.

Actually, I think it was the right call.  Check the scoreboard in the background when the player shoots the ball from outside---there were more than three second left on the clock when she shoots and the red light on the backboard lights up (but the horn does not sound) when the ball hits the rim.  It appears to be a mistake from the scorer's bench.  The winning shot was made as the horn was going off.

There is clearly only 1 second left on the shot clock when the first shot from 3 pt is taken so it was definitely a shot clock violation.  There were about 4 seconds on the game clock when she took the 3 pointer.

Right.  It was a no-brainer shot clock violation.

This helps explain John's recent malaise. He is simply too good a player to have the results he has recently posted unless something was/is wrong.

It probably missed the Northwest Tollway turnoff at O'Hare and ended up heading down the Kennedy instead.

Ooh, so snarky!

Raise your hand if you are a CCIW regular poster who doesn't care about a WIAC battle for the top (when UWSP has lost to Augie, while UWW has beaten IWU).  Hands up?  Sorry I don't see any hands up.

MY hand is way up, Mr. In fact, BOTH of my hands are up. I'm primarily interested in the tight CCIW race right now as I would bet the majority of the "regular" posters in the CCIW room are.

Perhaps a better question might have been--"Raise your hand if you are a CCIW (regular) poster who doesn't root for IWU (and possibly Augie) who doesn't care about a WIAC battle for the top." It would seem that all anyone who is interested would have to do if they wanted to know the score, would be to check the WIAC board(s).

And an even better question than the one above is----IF it was so interesting and/or important, why wasn't the FINAL score posted?

Gosh, lots of hands are up!  ;)   :)

Mr. Ypsi

Ooh, snarkiness quotient WAY up!

Siince the CCIW and WIAC have been battling for three+ decades for the top conference (with some interludes for NESCAC, ODAC, UAA, etc.) my apologies for assuming many CCIW regulars might be interested in a top WIAC game.  Clearly I was out of line in assuming CCIW people might be interested in a WIAC game. :P  Obviously this board cannot handle both CCIW AND WIAC games.

Carry on, oh arbiter of CCIW Chat.  (BTW, UWSP beat UWW, 71-60.)

Quote from: Titan Q on January 24, 2012, 10:09:02 PMOnly 519 fans tonight at the Carver Center for this huge game.

It was worse at the airplane hangar. Granted, NPU is not the sort of opponent that's gonna bring Cardinals fans out of the woodwork, and the Park doesn't travel well these days (there were a hardy dozen and a half of us there rooting for the royal blue and gold). But the listed attendance of 350 must've included about 150 people disguised as empty seats, because I took a head count before tipoff -- yes, the crowd was sparse enough for me to take a head count -- and I counted 151 people present who were what's normally considered to be attendees (i.e., people who are not players, coaches, training staff, or event staff). That 151 included North Central's cheerleaders, dance squad, pep band, color guard, glee club, what have you. Even if you count the people who trickled in after the opening jump, there were still no more than 200 people present. I don't get that. You'd think that this very good Cardinals team would draw more than 200 fans for a conference home game.

Ah, but you have to remember that with the many cultural, social, gastronomic and other pursuits available in beautiful downtown NaPPerville, a D3 college basketball game faces stiff competition for both attention and attendance.
Or, perhaps there were lots of tests scheduled and papers due in Wednesday classes?

Seriously, I've wondered about the low attendance at NCC basketball games for several years. I don't think there is much question that with the success of the football team in recent years, football (with apologies to the CC and Track nat'l champs) is king at NCC as far as interest and attendance. Very understandable. I'm a football fan myself. However, as you indicate, the basketball team certainly has its share of stars and exciting play, and is currently involved in a very close and exiting battle for conference supremacy. Despite this, basketball attendance is piss poor, and has been for an extended period of time. Recent exceptions have been Augie, Wheaton, and Wesleyan. However, on the whole, basketball attendance is a puzzlement and, at least in my view, an embarrassment to a student body who has a rather large percentage of their members associated with one of the numerous athletic teams.

You really have a problem with me posting a link to a video stream for an interesting game involving #16 vs #2 - on a night with no CCIW action - just for any CCIW fans who might be interested in watching but for whatever reason aren't aware of the the game?  Or like this...

Q, how dare you think that D3 posters would be interested in a great match-up of D3 teams?

Q, thanks for the update on Kman's health.  I hope he can get the attention, treatment needed and get closer to full health in the coming few weeks.  He is much appreciated by this Titan fan, and much needed for the stretch run by the Titans.  I love his style of play when he's performing well, giving that versatility and slashing style of offense when he's on the wing.  Wish him well for quick and full recovery.

Glad to see Molinar getting back.

Big game this weekend at WC.  Hope we can get one or two of these upcoming key road games vs. contenders.

Arbiter of CCIW Chat. You flatter me, Mr. However, the fact is I'm the arbiter of nothing. I'll just leave it at that.
OK, you can spank me again now. That seems to be your answer to a difference of opinion. Peace.

If you want the truth, yes. Its not a big deal, but I think if someone is that interested in a particular game, they'll find the appropriate link on their own. This may surprise you, but I sincerely doubt many people were sitting around the other night waiting for you to post a link to the Point-Whitewater game.  ;)
