Wheaton putting a serious serious smackdown on Augie at King.  Augie's Pool C chances about in the grave.

Guess this means IWU vs. WC, then AC vs. NCC, right?

HopeConvert

Given that I have a friend who teaches at Augustana, and that they beat Hope last year, I feel as if I have an interest in the Vikings. But there is no way you can advance them into the tournament at this point. This is an embarrassing loss when you have this much on the line.
One Mississippi, Two Mississippi...

It's over.

Wheaton 74
Augie 44

Glad I watched online rather than bothering to go out to Wheaton for this one. It was a massacre.

Wheaton just crushed Millikin.

Ummmm, I mean Augustana.

Whoa, easy there. Remember, Augie did the exact same thing to Wheaton in the QC.

Tonight just evened it out.

yeah, yeah, yeah I know, but...

I wonder how many rows back the jacket went during this one.

Wow, that was a serious smackdown.  Doggies shooting 27% and 9% from treyland, outrebounded.  Guess NCC gets the easier game vs. AC at home Friday.  Titans get the tougher semi vs. high-flying, great-playing WC with the presumptive MOP McCrary in the line-up, playing great.  I think he had 21 and 11 tonight, with assists and blocks as well.  Other WC players, esp. Pflederer, also played very well.  Augie's chances for Pool C dead now, so they must regroup and go for the AQ.  Not an easy road, but not an easy road for IWU either.   Wheaton was comfortable at home, pretty much hitting on all cylinders tonight.

Indeed, a massacre.

I love how short of a memory our beloved IWU fans have

I think Giovanne put the jacket over his head tonight. :)  Hope he didn't cry like the Illini center vs. Nebraska.  Similar kind of game.

The purple shirt beneath it was very stylish, though.

Rebounds were even at 31 apiece.

"Easier" and "Augustana" don't belong in the same sentence. Anyone who thinks that Augie is going to play on Friday like they did tonight is kidding himself.

Augie is a good team that had a very bad night tonight. It happens. Doesn't mean that the Doggies are going to be a walkover on Friday.

If I had my choice, I am not sure who I would have IWU play.

North Central at home.... ugh.
Wheaton playing well and riding high....ugh.
Augustana angry and in a must win to get to tourney...ugh

I have no unrealistic hopes for this tournament, but I think the Titans have an equal shot, if they can play their game.
