After reading all of these points I realize I am so out of this loop . There does not seem to be a group of more recent members that stay on the boards. Here and there you see new names, but not too many.

I'm a newbie, but because I am just learning to enjoy d3 sports there isn't much for me to contribute.  I do enjoy lurking however, and learning from all of your collective wisdom (and it IS often entertaining).
For example....the afternoon I found myself researching the history of The Belt (sorry, don't know the trick for the tm).

Lurking is a good way to get the feel of a particular room.  I lurked for a long time before I felt comfortable contributing.  I'm glad you decided to jump in!

When you get "view the profile of" look at the bottom of your screen and you will see a line pop up. Your number is 12769.

The school's mascot was changed from the Crusaders to the Thunder in 2000, as the image of a mounted Crusader was deemed potentially offensive and reminiscent of a controversial period in Christian history. The change was noted in the national press, and some alumni objected to the change. Other suggestions for a new mascot name that were rejected included the Mastodons — a reference to Perry Mastodon, which is a mastodon skeleton that was dug up nearby and is now on display on the college campus in the brand new science building. While still known as the "Thunder", in 2010 the mascot was officially changed to a mastodon named "Tor Thunder" to integrate the official and unofficial mascots.[35]

Not sure if this is accurate, but either way, from now on, I am calling them the Wheaton Mastodons.

I think this is a difference between what is defined as a mascot.  Wheaton's official mascot, or team name, is the Thunder.  Wheaton's mascot (much to my chagrin and Sager's delight), or character that roams the sidelines, is a mastodon named Tor.  I personally am against Tor, but they also didn't ask me about it.

The CCIW board has more people with lots of time on their hands But keep those posts coming-it's a great way to get through the day.

saw travis grant score 60 vs minot state at the naia tournament.

also worked with coach John McClendon at COTW basketball clinics for several years in the early seventies.

The number thing is cool, but not as cool as the history lesson from Greg and Pat.

While I was indeed here early on, I think that my 15 is a result of the admin rank, in case anyone is feeling too close to the back of the line.

There is no good reason that the CCIW shouldn't have two of the final four. Two of the three squads are good enough. And it seems fairly clear to me that the Wesleyan women are good enough to win it all. The CCIW has done well overall thus far into the 11/12 season. I hope the teams can keep the momentum going.
