Oh come on already -- you guys know the best way to lose karma is by complaining about your karma total.

I found it even funnier because none of the HOF'ers I know were even logged on this morning, including myself.

Thought the paranoia had gone away but I guess not.
Paranoia never dies!

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you!!!

Amen and Amen

I'm melting....

Of course the problem here is I logged off at 12:48 and your karma was 98, Sager hasn't been on since 4 in the morning, Q hasn't logged in since the 31st.

Kinda blows you HOF smiter theory.

It's 97 as I leave this room.
For me, it's NOT an HOF er(had to be careful how that was worded, so it didn't look like-um you know...) Yes, 1100!!!

newcardfan,

I was always speculating why you had the incessant need to respond to virtually every post on this board.  You now confirmed what I thought....since you have celebrated your 1.100th post you must have some desire to get to such lofty status as the HOF'ers you have called out?

Listen, your welcome to your opinions but if your going to point out when others smite your karma (really, is it that important), or question you, then maybe it is time to be called out.  Greg and Bob have been supplying this board with knowledge, perspective and levity for a long time and quite frankly, this board wouldn't be the same without their input.

I rarely ever smite (and haven't in your case).   Just find it interesting that someone who is such a new poster has such a grasp as how things need to work on this board.

The good thing is your always on so I know a response won't take long and God knows you won't be able to resist adding to your post numbers.

Happy Easter to all......

Thanks for the blanket, i like mine dry, though.
I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

kenoshamark

Dennis,

To steal your tag line - I'm determined to be wise but this is beyond me?

Mr. Ypsi

Totally speculative, but perhaps Dennis is referring to your post to newcardfan.  ncf is NOT the one 'paranoid' about the HoFers - that would be Dennis.  ncf was specifically distancing himself from that discussion.  (You may owe an apology to ncf. ;))

[BTW, HoF has nothing to do with number of posts - you can trust me on that! ;D]

As I've said many times in this room over the years, I've never used the smite button on anyone. Ever. And the idea that the HOFers e-mail each other so that they can gang up on lil' ol' Dennis whenever he gets into an argument with one of them is not only deeply paranoid and totally false, it's downright silly. But nothing any of us says will ever convince Dennis of this, so I've given up trying.

Ah, but Chuck, as a Michigander you are eligible to gain an even bigger honor someday: The Michigan Hall of Fame of Supersweetness, the venerable institution founded by immortal Albion fan and goofball Gregg Ashabi (who is probably locked away in a venerable institution somewhere even as we speak).

I would be truly honored - as long as it doesn't require being locked up somewhere! 8-)

Big changes are afoot in our neighborhood NAIA conference. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in terms of local small-college recruiting.

does this mean they will give out more scholarships or less - i have to admit I've never understood if NAIA 1 was better than NAIA 2.

Don't know if it is 'better', but NAIA uses the same numerical order as NCAA - NAIA-1 allows more scholarships than NAIA-2.

Did a double take when I saw your new signature line. At first I thought I was reading someone else's post, but I like it.

Big changes are afoot in our neighborhood NAIA conference. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in terms of local small-college recruiting.

It appears many of the local NAIA schools will be operating under NAIA Division II guidelines which limit scholarships to 6 rather than the 11 that Division I schools are allowed to offer. Call me crazy, but it seems the fewer scholarships area NAIA schools can offer, the better for local NCAA D3 member institutions. Over the years, I've seen several CCIW schools lose kids to NAIA schools who, through their permitted scholarships, can often offer significant cost savings to recruits. It would seem the less often this advantage can be extended, the better for non athletic scholarship offering NCAA D3 schools.
