I think I am remembering that one of the main reasons I stopped posting was that I didn't have a lot of productive things to add to the discussion when I wasn't watching D3 games :P

But productive is in the eye of the producer ;D ;D

It's the offseason though... NOBODY is watching games!

I also wanted to give my condolences as well to Mr. Ypsi with the passing of his father.

Technically I am at a game... Just an NBA one.  :-[

Actually I mostly just signed on because I felt the need to confess. Does that make Pat Coleman my priest?

Since it indeed IS the offseason, which has traditionally kinda meant open season for topics, for anyone who has any appreciation for athletics, holy smokes you have to love playoff hockey.  Four overtime games yesterday, and the Hawks make it two games in a row forcing the game into overtime in the last seconds with the goalie pulled.  Thankfully, they pulled this one out last night.  I know this might be sacrilege in this room, but dare I say it's almost as exciting as Final Four basketball.......
Hail, Hail, the gang's all here, all out for Wesleyan!

Chase's father Tony works for IWU, and was a track star while going to school there. He still holds the school record in the steeplechase. That might be the reason for his son's name. Chase was or is a very good football player as well.

I know this is not basketball, but, the Carthage men's volleyball team received an at-large bid to the inaugural D3 national championship this week-end. That would be cool for a CCIW team to win the trophy.

* Is Indiana becoming an Elmhurst recruiting target? 3 players from IN now on the EC team, including Brandon
Grubl, a freshman this year who I think can develop into a good player for the Blue Jays.

* It appears Elmhurst is attracting a good number of guards, but they aren't going to improve their standing unless
they attract some quality bigs. Nick Sanford, who plays much bigger than his listed 6'4", is going to need a lot
of inside help, especially with the graduation of one year rental player Jerome Robinson whose senior year at
Elmhurst followed a year at Lewis, and 2 at Morton Jr. College.

* I've heard that EC junior guard James Robertson, the overall #21 scorer in the conference (9.8 ppg, 60 made 3s),
may not be returning to the team next year due to the fact he may have enough credits, and may be
graduating. Of course, its possible he either may not graduate or he could possibly return for a final year of
eligibility as a EC graduate student.

It's a shame the Titans were wound so tight before big games.

Elmhurst has always worked Indiana during the Scherer regime. Remember, he used to be an assistant at Valpo. It just hasn't always reaped dividends the way it seems to be reaping them now. Aside from a brief period in the early years of the Rees Johnson era at NPU, when he had a former northwest Indiana high school head coach on his staff, nobody else has really worked Indiana methodically as a recruiting area in recent years.
