I don't blame the kid, I blame the coach. It's a good thing it was a bible school, otherwise the opponents might have reacted differently. If you want to embarrass somebody, play somebody that can put up a fight. When Hope played and beat them last week it was at the NCC tourney. They didn't schedule them. They probable wished they played somebody a little better. Don't know why NCC didn't pull in better competition, but they are just not good. Before anybody jumps, I know sometimes it's hard to get teams to come and play, especially knowing 2 of the best teams in the country are there to beat you. I recall IWU played in one that only had three, because they couldn't find a fourth. But to agree to play them and then make it a joke, well it just doesn't pass the smell test to me.

Different schools. Hope played College of Faith, and this was Faith Baptist Bible. I hate to think what Grinnell would do to College of Faith.

RE: Grinnell.

If someone on Grinnell was trying to punk your favorite CCIW team by having someone jack 3s until they score 100 points, who would your team send in to, ummm, deliver a message.

I'll start with Carthage.  I know that Malcom Kelly wouldn't have put up with it, but he isn't on the team at the moment, so I'll go with the big guy, Tyler Pierce.  He slimmed down (supposedly), but probably not enough to keep him from squashing the kid.

For North Central, I have to go with Charlie "If he ain't bleeding, I didn't foul him" Rosenburg.

For Augie, who are we kidding?  Giovanine would rip a jersey off a player, check himself into the game and scream at the kid for the rest of the game.

Others?

Jack Taylor would not fair well vs IWU's Eric Dortch.

Wow, my fault, two bad teams with no game. Thanks

Denny McKinney

IWU70, thanks for your post. I've been following this board to keep up with the progress on a Hometown Kid. I was delighted to see Bryce Dolan got a little PT. Had a chance to see him play often. And had the opportunity to speak with him several times last year while he was making his decision. Bryce can flat out shoot the ball. He's in range when he crosses halfcourt. Probably the best HS 3 pt shooter I've seen. Smart player from Great program. Thanks again for your post.

I think Charlie Rosenberg might take exception to the above statement. I sense he might prefer "If he ain't bleeding, I didn't foul him hard enough."  ;)

And Victor Davis or Andrew Ziemnik could show him the door......or the wall.  8-)

Happy Thanksgiving to all chatsters and lurkers!

CARDINAL PRIDE STARTS WITH ME!

iwu70

DM, thanks for your kind words.  I, too, like the looks of Bryce Dolan and feel he has a great upside for the Titans.  He and Nelms are both going to have good CCIW careers, IMHO.  Both are "energizer bunny" type players, with happy warrior, and high energy, very positive attitudes.  One can tell right away they love to play the game.  Hope Dolan gets more minutes, shows what he can do.

Q, I'm all for Ron Rose to keep on trotting Victor on out there . . . and hope he finds his game very soon.  The Titans need him and his skills greatly.   No one, myself included said Victor wasn't a good player, making great contributions to the tourney run last year.  Nor did I say he was "awful," though I did say he played "poorly" which is palpably true, and that in the last game he played badly, which I believe to be true as well.  None of what I said here was posting "sh@t" as you suggested.  Give it a rest.

Silly or not, there is a time should Victor not produce that Ron Rose will indeed consider starting lineups with Mussleman or Anderson or Mayberger or Zimmer, with Dortch at the 3.  Call me silly.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the regulars and to all the lurkers, too.

Well, just for the sake of accuracy, I said:

You say some strange sh@t, 70.

I think saying you post some "strange sh@t" is different than saying you're "posting sh@t."

Deep thoughts.

I will get to see my first in-person D3 action of the season today.  #21 Wash U plays Austin College (TX) here at Nebraska Wesleyan's tournament.  It looks like Mark Edwards has a really good team this year, starting...

G - Alan Aboona, 6-1 Jr - 13.3 ppg, 4.0 apg
G - Tim Cooney, 6-3 Jr - 6.7 ppg, 3.7 apg
F - Chris Klimek, 6-5 Jr - 13.3 ppg, 6.0 rpg
F - Matt Palucki, 6-6 So - 8.7 ppg, 7.0 rpg
C - Robert Burnett, 6-7 Sr - 12.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg

Imagine if they still had Wheaton's Brayden Teuscher (16.3 ppg) at the SG spot.
