I'm too lazy to check but I think this would be the first mens CCIW tourney in the Shirk Center if the Titans don't have a major collapse in the final 3 weeks of the regular season.  Just going by memory, I believe the previous hosts of the CCIW tourney were:

2006 Augustana
2007 Augustana
2008 Augustana
2009 Wheaton
2010 Carthage
2011 North Central
2012 North Central

And I believe the host has won 5 times.

The new Top 25 poll...

Big kudos to the voters for only dropping NCC 2 spots (#5 to #7) after losing twice.  Definitely shows they are closely looking at who teams are playing and where.

I agree.  And IWU should be higher.

The final 2 min plus OT in the NCC-Wheaton game for anyone that missed it.

You are correct, if indeed IWU wins the CCIW, if will be the first time since the four team tourney started that they host.

Ron Rose up next on Hoopsville...

Thought Coach Rose represented the CCIW with class.  Fortunate to have him as our coach/leader of young men.

IWU has become quite proficient at hosting the CCIW women's tourney over the last 5 years. I'm sure they'll do a fine job with the men's tourney if it comes to that.

I'm sure they will do a great job.  It's a great facility and they always do a great job of hosting events in any sport.

Not that the D3hoops poll matters all that much at this stage, but I too agree IWU should be top ten, a bit higher, as they have big wins @WC, over AC and NCC.  Of course, good the voters knew about NCC's injuries, etc., perhaps gave them a bit of a break even with the two losses last week.  But . . .    Key of course is regional rankings coming soon.  I think Q got it about right, but we'll see.  Is this a year one where we might have a shot at 3 teams from the CCIW in the dance?

I agree it unlikely that IWU goes 14-0, but 13-1 or 12-2 would be very nice, thank you.  Do hope IWU gets to hosts the CCIW tournament.  Shirk is a great venue for such a two day event.

Now the stretch run.  Big game at Carver for the Titans . . . moving closer to wrapping it up.

FWIW #2, I am not a Weenie homer, but I am more and more impressed by the Titans as the season wears on.  I suspect they will show better than their #18 ranking when all is said and done.  I am not typically a member of the 'rowr, four CCIW schools belong in the Top 15!' species, but as the season progresses, this team seems to be clicking more and more.

I had said this two weeks ago and stand by it today.  Somewhere in the #7-#12 range feels about right for the Titans at the moment.  The biggest issue I would have at the moment is the amount of separation between the Titans and the Sons of Warden.  Recognizing that what we are seeing is the aggregate of 25 disparate ballots, it feels like these two should be around 2-3 places apart in that #7-#12 range.

For what it's worth, Massey has NCC #8 and IWU #9...

Great shots of Teuscher's 3- what a tough bucket, going to his left.  And then great shots of the crowd and atmosphere!

Great video showing why we all love this level of basketball.  Most anyone would enjoy this except maybe NC fans and students.  The NC students did have a very vocal group of supporters that could be heard too!  Different view than Wheaton broadcast so you can see what was blocked on the broadcast last Saturday :)

Is it now safe to say, that there will not be a team go thru the conference undefeated.

Bosko mentioned this on the Carthage postgame last night.  He said something like, "There is a very good chance this will be the 40th consecutive season without an undefeated CCIW team.  There just isn't another league that can say that."

I've heard Bosko reference this stat a lot of times over the years.  It's obvious that this is one of the things about the CCIW he appreciates and respects the most.

Bosko's like one of the '72 Miami Dolphins. I swear that he breaks out a bottle of champagne every season when the last remaining undefeated CCIW team loses.

Obviously there's a long way to go, including two very tough games this week... but I wonder how Bosko feels now, six games later, with six to go, and the Green Weenies remaining unscathed?
A guess - Bosko probably feels on any given night Carthage (as well as others) has a chance to hand the Titans a loss.  With mutual respect for Bosko, you can be sure he'll have a game plan to make it difficult for IWU.

You cannot know the mind of Bosko.  He only reveals small tidbits that mortals can handle...
