Ypsi, the value of depth on this Titan team.  It's been amazing -- kudos to Anderson, Dortch, Musselman, Mayberger, and Dolan.  Quality minutes, good contributions and much fewer mistakes now.  They do their job.

Happy Snake Year to all the CCIW chatsters.  Kung Hei Fat Choi!

2 stats and comments to follow:

1) Since the advent of CCIW Tournament play in 2006, IWU is 4-5.
2) In the same time span, IWU is 13-4 in NCAA tournament play with no games played at Shirk.

Is this a tough league? These stats indicate it is a ridiculously tough league. So, just get 3, maybe 4 teams in the NCAA tournament this year and perhaps at least 2 can make it to Salem (8 teams go this year) and 1 can play for the D3 title on April 7 in Atlanta. But it takes a lot of luck to play for a national title. Despite its fantastic play in the D3 tourney, IWU has made it to the championship game only once when it won it all in 1997.

If Augustana makes the CCIW tourney and wins it, could the CCIW get 4 teams in the D3 tourney?

Guess it best that someone other than Carthage wins the AQ on the women's side.  Just say'in.

Does this mean you think the best course is for someone other than the Titans taking the AQ on the men's side?  Just say'in... :)

While it won't change my (or iwu70's) rooting interest, for the conference, YES.  As long as the winner is Augie/Carthage in the 4th slot (barring 3-game losing streaks, IWU, NCC, and Wheaton all look good for Pool C).  The women are different - I'm not absolutely certain that even Carthage is a lock for Pool C, but certainly more so than anyone else.

Agree with my old friend, Ypsi.  Of course, I'll be cheering for both Titan squads to continue their winning ways, to win out.  But, always nice to see the league well-represented and doing well in the Dances to come.  Same with upcoming big track/field meets, and also Springtime baseball and softball, soon to commence.

It may be, as Ypsi indicates, that only the CCIW AQ on the women's side will get a bid.  IWU clearly needs the AQ to get in, it would appear.  I don't think 19-8 with their in-region losses, even against highly-rated teams, will get them in.  I could be wrong.  CC and WC have better in-region and overall records to date, right?

Four men's teams in from CCIW on the men's side would surely be a first, right?  Three will be grand, hoping for four is a likelihood too far.

#2 Amherst over #3 Middlebury, 104-101 Triple OT.  Shades of IWU's game last year

You guys must not have read the handbook very carefully... the NCAA is limiting the number of conferences that get bids to just two outside the AQ... so three total. Sorry about that...

So most likely, if Augie would actually get the AQ, one of the other three would be left out.

From the Amherst/Middlebury game, check out the intentional missed FT play that sent the game to a 3rd OT...

I love the intentional missed FT, that has to be one of the most unlikely things to actually go according to the plan, especially cool that the shooting player got his own rebound.

I practiced this in my driveway as a kid a lot of times, almost never went in, and I had no defenders to beat, no real clock, no real game nerves or intensity to cope with either.

Hey everyone, been awhile.  I just wanted to ask a question that I'm sure someone might know.

Does anyone know what year it is (animal) on the Chinese calendar?
