This is just an FYI to whoever is interested.  If you are planning on traveling to St. Louis to watch the Wash U/IWU game or for some other reason, you should book reservation now.  Quite a few hotels are already sold out.

There are several close to campus that are going to have rooms including the Crowne Plaza in downtown Clayton just five minutes from campus.  They have a $100-120 per night rate, but you have to ask for the Washington University rate.  In fact, if you are staying close to campus at all, ask for the Washington University rate.  $100-120 is the going rate for hotels that are within a 20 minute driving range (excluding the rundown airport hotels).

You can also stay in the hotel on campus, three buildings away from the gym, but it is $119-129 per night: http://www.olin.wustl.edu/knightcenter/Pages/default.aspx

St Louis to Bloomington , 3 hours or less, you'll be home by midnight!!!!   ;) ;) ;)
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Don't want to be accused of lazy posting, but didn't see anywhere if the IWU or NCC contest would be available to watch on-line - anyone have information?

Here is the IWU/Wash U game    http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/wustl.portal#

I can't find if they will have video for the NCC game or not.

The only time I have seen a deserving host not get the second weekend was Hope and IWU women's teams who were also hosting the Final Fours that season.

That was 2011 when IWU got into the Final Four despite having to go to Stevens Point, who had beaten them at the Shirk in 2010 when they had a chance of running the table at home.  Certainly the first time of a chance at that since the Final Four started being hosted at a predetermined site.

At this time, I do not believe the NCC-UWW game is scheduled to be televised.
NCC's arrangement for video is with Naperville Community Television (NCTV). As the game is not being played in Merner Fieldhouse in Naperville, but rather in the Dan & Ada Rice center in Lisle, the likelihood is that viewers are out of luck. I will continue to look into the possibility of video availability. As the facilities are less than 3 miles apart, maybe things will change. However, I wouldn't hold my breath.  :(

Benedictine has a great video setup for home games. Hopefully they will be able to do the game.

I'd like to see the IWU/Wash U game played at the neutral site of the Beaver Dome in Carlinville.

Don't you mean the Wissahickon Boys' Club :D  Every basketball fan should listen to Cosby's bit on that and the Beaver Dome is the closest I've seen to it, at least at the college level.

A Lover of the Game

Thanks, WUH, for the info. I had a time finding a hotel that was within a mile or two of the school.  The rate I got is comparable to the ones you listed.  Hopefan, I'm just about three hours north of Bloomington. I'm driving down Saturday morning, but refused to drive back after the game.  If I did, I'd probably find myself sitting somewhere in a cornfield wondering how the heck I got there when the last thing I remember was driving down the road.   :)

As NCC and BU obviously have a good relationship, perhaps arrangements can indeed be made. While BU and NCC no longer play football, the rivalry continues on the basketball court as the teams play for The Battle Of Chicago/Maple Ave trophy every year.
BU AD Mark McHorney is a very accommodating guy, and I'm sure he would entertain the possibility. The BU/NCC relationship is further fostered by the fact that head BU basketball coach Keith Bunkenburg's better half is the NCC head volleyball coach. In addition, ass't BU basketball coach Frank Janczak is a NCC alum.

Thanks, Q.  Seems the Titans are on the road, then, 'til Salem, if they keep winning.  A very tough road through the "bracket of death," -- though I go through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil . . . thy John Wesley Powell rod and thy Dennie Bridges staff, they comfort me . . . " and so on.

I shall dwell in the house of Titans forever.

Amen.

P.S.  Middhoops, thanks for your kind words about our board and for your assessment of the teams from "back East."  Amherst sounds pretty scary, indeed.   ms
