My spellcheck apparently tried to correct "Prikkel" for me. No one has ever been able to correct the Man of a Thousand Chins

Mr. Ypsi

Still, you gotta admit that 'Prickle' might be a more accurate spelling of his name! ;D

Prickle and I are probably the only ones on the board who would remember NPU student Greg leading the crowd chants from his spot in the metal bleachers at the end of the court. That was when the Crackerbox was full of crackers every night. Best atmosphere I have ever been a part of. I have locked GS into that time in what is left of my mind.

But that's only because he is SO young that I wasn't around!  I was at the 'crackerbox' at least 2 (maybe 3) times while he was in grade school! :P

Sager has buddies? ;D ;D ;D ;D  ;)

I prefer to think of them as minions.

Why does that not surprise me? :) :) :)

I had to wait until I got to Millikin to hire Matt.  He is doing a tremendous job there resurrecting the program.  Right guy for the job and doing it the right way.  Matt, Mike and Bosko are three of my favorite people in the coaching world, all competing against each other in the same conference.

I would still question anyone who would claim Sager as a buddy, but young Gregory has grown well into his guru status.

There are not many of us left who can (accurately) think 'young Gregory'! ;D  Certainly there are you and Dennis (I miss the banter over who has more chins! :o), but otherwise, off the top of my head, I'm straining to recall the age 60+ posters on what will always be 'CCIW Chat' to me.

The AARP solicitations didn't bother me (their membership begins at 50, and their records are sufficiently bad that my then 20-year-old son got a letter from them!), but getting my Medicare card on Monday was a downer! :P

got my medicare card last September - growing old is a bitch.   :(
I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

The manager at the Foster Avenue McDonald's still wants to know what happened to my brother.  ;D

This coming from a man who has more chins than a Chinese phone book.

Just a reminder...

If it was this year's Chinese phonebook, it would be the Phonebook of the Snake.

The intellectual elevation of our conversation is imposing.

It is said that the carviings on Mount Rushmore are miniature versions of Prikkel's enormous cranium.  Given the interior of his skull, it translates more aptly to Mammoth Cave.

Now that the seating has been cleared up, and the fact that its difficult for visitors to shoot there because of the wide open area behind the baskets, (a little bit of that poor shooting might be good D by NCC), we can move on to the real issue.

The layout of the court itself is different than all the rest of the courts that IWU, and everybody else plays on. There is more room behind the baskets at the Hanger than anywhere else. It's about 2 feet more on each end. It's the same for both teams, but if you aren't used to it, it can fool you.

It must be legal, otherwise the NCAA wouldn't allow it to host. We all know that the NCAA is on top of everything, right??

Or do they not know? Did they do their due diligence, conspiracy theorist might think something is fishy.

Ask any ex player, this is legit, there is a big advantage to the home team.

Not that it's German to this post-season's discussion, but the shooting background at North Park is also vastly different.  For years I kept statistics that both teams shot better on the wall end of the gym (which is lighter) than the stage end (which has the big blue curtain) and is darker.

For what its worth no visiting team was ever allowed to shoot well at either end of the old Fred Young Fieldhouse. :)

And, since we are clarifying things--probably "Taiwanese phone book" makes for a better joke.  The Chinese mainland spelling of Chin is actually Chen in Pinyin.  :-\

I'm picturing "NPU student Greg" as a real wild man during his college days. Leading the crowd in chants, running amok around campus, and causing a general state of havoc on the otherwise pristine campus.  :o
Scary!  ;)

Well it looks like WUH has been paying entirely too much attention to Greg the guru and is trying to follow in his footsteps. ???

NCC/IWU seating update.........

IWU will have 4 bleacher sections at the east end (the usual NCC student section) of the arena. In addition to the bleacher seating in this area, 3 rows of folding chairs have been added in front of the bleachers. IWU will also have the eastern 1/3 of the balcony seats.
NCC will have the folding seats along the north side of the court, the bleachers at the west end, and the western 2/3s of the balcony.
