Congrats to the three CCIW players for post-season All-American honors.

Time to recruit, recruit, recruit!

DI dance bigtime this weekend.  Had visitors here this weekend from MSU, and they were flying directly back from Hong Kong to Indy to attend the MSU-Duke match-up late Friday night, US time.  True fans.

I remember the phrase from the Mondale run for President, "Where's the Beef?", but I guess now it's "Where's the Spring?"

All best to CCIW chatsers.  Slow baseball and softball seasons developing . . . the way things are going for the major league baseball season, seems I'm going to have to put some of my beloved NY Yankees into "assisted living."  Strange season to think that the Nationals are a very legit claimant as favorite this season in the AL.

...and yet track meets still go on :):) Pre-season #1 North Central opened the outdoor season yesterday. Day 2 of the meet begins around 11 this morning.  I would normally cheer for a B1G 10 team  (#*$@ Indiana!) but not when they play Duke.

Congratulations to Raridon, Gamble and Ryan!  Certainly deserving.  Adding All-American to Midwest Region POY nice touch for Raridon.  I thought Gamble played great in Salem.   And, I thought Ryan was impressive as a freshman in the games I saw this year.   I have the feeling we are going to be discussing Ryan the next three years!

You were not alone. For those who wonder about the re-ordering of the two Cardinals between the end of the regular season and this week, that's a major factor. Those two were really close in the voters' minds at the end of the regular season and in Salem, I really felt like Gamble had the better set of games.

I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

So, are they building "domes" or "tents."  Which is it?   ;D

 Well the title said tents, but the article mentions domes/tents, so maybe some combination of the two?:)

I heard that in a further altruistic move, all IWU faculty were going to give up their salaries for two years, too, so that a dome could be build further north to cover up Advocate BroMenn hospital as well.  Why think small?

Good thing graduation isn't held on April 1st, heh?  (though a few students to some faculty are "beyond a joke," I'm sure!).

Congrats to all member of the IWU Class of '13 -- with Graduation upcoming on May 5th, in front of the new State Farm Hall on the north side of the IWU Quad.  This new state-of-the-art classroom building will be open for use in fall, 2013.  Much needed new teaching spaces, offices for Economics and Business Administration.  And that's no joke.

Are there any incoming freshman that we know of that may make a big difference next year? I know it might be too soon but what CCIW teams are in need of a freshman that could potentially come in and take on a significant role?

My thoughts are that North Central should try to maybe get an impact big and maybe try to find a point guard that can shoot the ball a little. Wesleyan is in need of some guards that can help overstreet out and be able to get to the rim and shoot the ball. Augie will also be in search of some guards that can contribute because of their inconsistent guard play. Any other thoughts?  ???

IWU's shooting guards (Pat Sodemann, Brady Zimmer) did not play well in the tournament vs Wash U or North Central, but I feel very good going into 2013-14 with those two at the guard spots, alongside Dylan Overstreet.  Sodemann and Zimmer played well in 2012-13 overall...

* Zimmer: 10.7 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 62-106 FG (.585), 22-40 3-point (.550), 68-83 FT (.819)
* Sodemann: 10.5 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 69-159 FG (.434), 35-85 3-point (.412), 57-86 FG (.864)

They were both a big part of IWU's 13-1 CCIW season.  Both can shoot it, and Zimmer is very good at getting to the basket when healthy.  Zimmer, if healthy in 2013-14, is talented enough to be a 1st or 2nd Team all-CCIW player.  He is IWU's most talented offensive player.

I think you are weighing that tournament game at North Central too heavily.  Both were bad in that game.

Agree with Q.  If Sodemann and Zimmer are healthy, IWU is in pretty darn good shape at the 2.  Would be nice to get a bit more from Dolan and Nelms next season as those who give Overstreet a few minutes breather.  Rotation and style of play of the bigs will be different, with the very consistent, good-passing, strong-rebounding Reed gone.  So whoever gets those minutes will be key, and surely play a different style than Reed did.  Perhaps its Anderson, perhaps more minutes for Eric Dortch, more minutes for Mayberger who can score it from the perimeter?, perhaps Davis moves to the 5 . . . Ryan Coyle?  Not sure.   Ron Rose has lots and lots of good talent coming back . . . and we know little of the recruiting class as yet.  Should be interesting . . . wouldn't be surprised to see IWU picked to win the CCIW crown again and be ranked, pre-season, in the top 10.

With the loss of only Reed and (valued team-member, but seldom used) Oswald, I'll be surprised if the pre-season poll doesn't have IWU in the top 5, and perhaps even top 3.  Most top teams around the country this season are getting hit much harder by graduation than the Titans.
