Concordia (WI) 84
Millikin 81

I believe Concordia hit a halfcourt shot at the buzzer to win this one.

I watched some of this game -- very competitive. The announcers, who were from Bridgewater since the game was played at Bridgewater, commented on some very strange officiating. It's always hard to tell when watching online but a lot of there observations seemed on target to me. The questionable calls seemed to even themselves out.

NCC gets two single digit wins against a couple of mid-level ODAC teams -- a long way from home, of course, which had to be tough for them. Where do posters on this board see NCC in the CCIW race?

The consensus seems to be that NCC is a middle-of-the-pack CCIW team this season. But it's worth noting that the consensus has been wrong before. The game results to date seem to bear it out, though.

NCC escapes with a win out east. Landon Gamble had 24, Vince Kmiec scored 20, Kevin Honn added 11, and Jack Burchett grabbed nine caroms.

Mark, is Evan Fendley any relation to former Carthage and Elmhurst guard Sean Fendley? I noticed that they went to the same high school, York in Elmhurst.

Having left Tuesday, the Cardinals have just entered West Virginia on the way home from a long and very successful road trip following a 70-68 victory over Eastern Mennonite earlier this afternoon at the Bridgewater VA College tournament. The absence of a stellar record notwithstanding, the Cardinal staff felt Eastern Mennonite was one of the more athletic and super quick teams that they have faced over the last several years. They pressed most of game, and the Cards felt fortunate to come away with a hard fought win. The feeling is that with 3 road wins in the last 4 days on this extended road trip, that the experience will pay nice dividends come time for conference play.

The various NCC leaders were delineated above by Greg Sager and, in answer to Greg's question, Evan Fendley is the brother of former Carthage (and Elmhurst) guard, Sean Fendley.

Having graduated from an ODAC school (not EMU) decades ago (before the ODAC even existed) and having followed my alma mater and the ODAC for more than 10 years now, I can say that the athleticism and quickness have been EMU's MO for the past 5-6 seasons.

On to basketball!!  Probably right about the Cards.  But I think that they will get better and better as the season wears on.  You can't lose the talent from last year and not have some growing pains.  But we have a star in Gamble, and when everyone gets used to playing their role, I think that we will be a dangerous team in league play, although we clearly don't have the overall talent of IWU, Wheaton or Augie.

Mayberger had a superb game at UC -- 5-5 from the field, including 4-4 from trey land.  Titans looking good, even when not playing their best overall basketball.  Good to see Sodemann and Davis playing so well early on in the season.  Hope the Titans get Zimmer and Nelson contributing more on offense, and improve the rebounding to some degree.  They can surely shoot the rock, hit many treys per game.

Some good tests upcoming, esp. Wilmington and perhaps Hope.\\

Congrats to North Central on an outstanding football season and for representing the CCIW so so well vs. The Machine, Mount Union.  The NCC team just came up short, losing to Mount 41-40 in the snow in Alliance.  What an awesome game -- determined by the special team and kicking game snafus in very trying, challenging conditions, it would appear.  A great season for NCC.  Great performance in the Semis against the greatest power in D3 football.  Congrats to Coach Thorne and all the NCC players, coaches and fans -- good luck to the seniors in future endeavors.
