Awful free throw shooting and an absolute ridiculously tight whistle gonna do in the Titans.
Hail, Hail, the gang's all here, all out for Wesleyan!

Refs didn't shoot 5-23 from the 3-point line.  live by it, die by it.

Yup, not enough trey shooting tonight.  Way too much KJ Evans.  Titans never gave up, but just not their shooting night, from the field or from the charity stripe.  WW played tough D and have a great team.  Congrats to them.

Great season for the Titans --  my warm congrats to Ron Rose and all the team.   A truly great year.  Another banner in The Shirk.

I'd expect WW to beat Amherst for the title.

Titan program strong, in good shape for more good March runs in the future.

I didn't say it was all on the refs, but you can't honestly say the way the game was called didn't affect our inside game. Victor Davis had 4 charging fouls called on him. Of course we have to shoot better, but one of our strengths was completely taken out of the game.

Great season, Titans!  Had a chance late but just couldn't get over the hump.   Hats off to UWW.  Great team!

One of your biggest team strengths was 3-point shooting, statistically the only thing IWU did different today vs all season was shoot the ball from 3.

Certainly, all disappointments aside, hats off to UWW. Great team, great athletes

Congratulations to the Titans on a hard fought game and a great season. Showed a TON of character when they responded to get right back in game after falling behind by 15. Obviously, a first-class program that deserves to be considered among the very best of D3. Titan fans should be very proud.

I really hate the way basketball is called these days. It's all about falling down to get any call.  An offensive player can initiate a ton of contact with no call, but if a defender falls down after any contact (no matter the amount of force), a charge is called as long as they are "in-position".  It's become a thespian society.  I don't know when it's going to get fixed.

Wisconsin Whitewater superior quickness caused a lot of those fouls.  IWU cold as ice from 3. Ball game.

Would tend to agree with this.  IWU season avg from 3 pt was .420, today's 5/23 was .217 . . . the difference of 4 more 3pt FGs made.  Jordan Nelson 0/6 definitely hurt with some decent looks.

At any rate, congratulations to IWU for a great season.  Another Final Four berth is definitely something to be proud of(Thunder fans still waiting for our first).

Great game.

UWW was tough and IWU responded and put themselves in a position for a possible win, alas, it didn't happen.

No reason for the Titans to hang their heads. Great season!

I love the banner ad on here that makes a mock "scan" and says "we've found 3 dating sites for you!"

It makes me feel special.

I won't belabor this beyond this last post, as I certainly don't intend to be "that guy" to blame the refs on the game.  The refs called the game consistently from opening tip to final buzzer.  That's all you can ask for.  IWU needed to shoot the ball better from the line and the arc to win this game, no doubt.  Yes, our 3 point shooting has been a strength this season, but there's times when those shots aren't going to fall.  It's during those times when your shots aren't falling that I'd like to think pounding the ball into Victor Davis and Andrew Ziemnik, 2 of the better forward combos in the conference and Midwest region, could help alleviate some of that pressure on the outside shooters.  There's certainly been games this year where that's exactly what happened.  But, because of the manner which the game was called, it took that inside bulk advantage out of the game and forced us to rely on those long shots that weren't falling.  Again, it was consistent the whole game, it's not like we didn't know what was a foul and what wasn't a foul, but I really believe it lead to us being too one dimensional.

Again, congrats to UWW.  They're a great team from a great conference.  I certainly don't mean to take anything away from their game tonight.

Your school won the national title in 1957, GoPerry -- and at a higher level, no less, as NCAA College Division had scholarship teams and is considered to be the precursor of D2 as well as D3.

Wow, Williams finally found Amherst's number tonight, putting a real thrashing on them.

Should be a great championship game.  WW plays great D.
