Does Dr. Paul Miller have any eligibility left?  If so, he might be able to fill in for Nelson if the injury continues to cause him to falter.

AR, thanks for sharing that - +k.  Dr. Miller was my adviser.

Dr. Miller is amazing.  He buzzes past me on my bike around campus.  He's some kind of freak of elderly nature.  For sure.  Putting all the rest of us already on Social Security to shame!

Let's hope Nelson gets healthy by the start of practices.  Same with Heyen.  IWU needs all the troops they can get healthy.

Dr. Miller is the same age as my mom, but obviously in much better shape.  She uses a walker sometimes for the exercise, but is mostly in a wheelchair.  Her hearing is going somewhat, and she is nearly blind.  Otherwise her health is fantastic for that age.

Your mom could make some extra folding cash reffing in the Midwest Conference.  ;D

Unfortunately, a few weeks ago Nelson broke the same ankle he did last year and is sidelined right up until the first day of practice.  The timing is better than last year, but the repeat injury is a huge concern for me.

fwiw, Nelson's foot injury this year is not related to last year's ankle injury.

AndOne

Yes, but is your foot injury on the same side as the ankle injury was?

"OutsideShooter" is not Jordan Nelson.  Just FYI.

Full, new IWU roster now posted on the IWU men's basketball page, including the 8 new freshmen recruits.  Big roster -- 28 players in all.

Let's hope everyone stay healthy, giving Ron Rose lots of options to consider, think about.

IWU ranked #2 in DIIIhoops preseason poll?  I don't see it.  I would have thought somewhere between 15 and 25.  Augie and WC also ranked -- 6 and 12?  Augie does seem the favourite, with everyone coming back, getting better.  Lots of questions with the IWU line-up, injury situation etc.  Must be a ranking based on last year's performance, not this year's prospect.

Thrilled to see WC at 12.  We'll see if they can live up to that.  Different schedule this year. Some tough travel.

We will miss Haynes.

Should have very good play 1-3.  4 and 5 positions will be the question.

Go Thunder!

Tooold, yup, Haynes a good player.  He killed IWU a few times.  Titans have the same issue -- plenty of talent at the 1 and 2, on the perimeter, questions at the 3, big questions at the 4 and 5.  We will miss Vic Davis and Zman greatly.  Need to see if Seibring and Marietti can do the work.  We'll miss Mayberger at the 3 too -- so perhaps have to find a new 3 or go to the 3 guard set-up several have mentioned -- Overstreet, Sodemann and Nelson.  Could happen.  WC will be good -- hope 12 is about right.  Seems Augie should be ranked pre-season above the Titans, with all Augie has coming back.  Even with my perpetual "green glasses" I don't see my Titans at #2 pre-season.  I would have thought somewhere 15-25, 'til they prove they are really top ten this coming year.  Time will tell, and soon now.  Looking forward to another great D3 and CCIW season.
