We here in CCIWland can certainly excuse balderdashery on occasion. I have balderdashed a time or two myself. However, the statute of limitations for forgiveness in these regions usually is limited to one year from date of occurrence. Accordingly, your fine is still payable within 30 days.  ;)

Very big neutral court game today at 4:00pm (Central) - #16 North Central vs #10 Dickinson (at Juniata, Huntingdon, PA).

Dickinson finished 24-6 last year (15-3 in the Centennial Conference).  In the NCAA tournament, they beat Geneseo State (at Wooster), won at Wooster, and beat Wheaton (at IWU) before falling to IWU.

Here are the boxscores from the games vs Wheaton and IWU:

Dickinson's 3 returning starters from the 2013-14 team are their leading scorers so far this year:

F - Gerry Wixted, 6-8 Sr. (16.1 ppg, 8.6 ppg, 3.1 apg)
F - Steve Collins, 6-10 Sr. (12.6 ppg, 4.7 rpg)
G - Brandon Angradi, 6-4 Jr. (12.1 ppg)

Wixted was named a preseason 1st Team All-American by D3hoops.com this year.

Why is Stevens Point so high? Is it because they've beaten up on the 3 bottom-feeding WIAC teams or because they lost at St. Olaf (#22 massey) by 1 and got smoked at home to NCC?

IWU vs. Wash U Saturday.  The team that limits TOs, rebounds the ball better, wins the game.

Yes, rebounds and turnovers both called and reversed. [holding back the tears]

If I could give you +2 I would... for a double-reference that sometimes is used together as one by a particular late-night TV host :)

The North Central Cardinals literally face a tall order this afternoon in Pennsylvania.
Their starting lineup has been comprised of players 5-9, 6-0, 6-4, 6-6, and 6-6. Dickinson will likely start with 6-2, 6-4, 6-7. 6-8, and 6-10.
NCC had to travel half way across the country yesterday to reach Juniata College in the metropolis of Huntingdon, PA., which has a population of about 7,100, and is basically in the middle of nowhere. Dickinson is about a 90 minute drive SE.
Jack Burchett and Charlie Rosenberg need to stay out of foul trouble, and on the floor.

Tip-Off is at 4:00 Central Time. Yesterday it indicated no video with Live Stats only. Today shows video, but with no audio available.

One thing I remember from last year's IWU/Dickinson game though is that their tall guys are not all that physical.  I think 6-8 Wixted and 6-10 Collins are both guys who take about 1/3 of their shots from 3-point range...and a majority of their other shots are probably mid-range, face-the-basket type shots.  "Stretch 4s" - is that the in vogue term?

Dickinson had trouble matching up with the physicality of 6-4 Andrew Ziemnik and 6-5 Victor Davis last year.  IWU out-rebounded Dickinson by a crazy 43-26 margin.  NCC should enjoy the same type of phyicality advantage with 6-6 Rosenburg and 6-6 Burchett.

Similar to last year's IWU combo of Ziemnik & Davis, it would indeed be difficult to find a tougher, more physical duo than Rosenberg & Burchett who always play a take no prisoners brand of ball. In addition to their physicality inside, Jayme Moten, last week's CCIW Player Of The Week, has lately been bombing at a 70% clip from outside, last week hitting 17 of 24, including 12 of 17 from downtown. Hopefully this inside-outside combo can help take down the taller giants Red Devils.

And David put his hand in the bag and took out a stone and slung it. It hit the Philistine on the head, and he fell to the ground.

And because the refs were from the CCIW, no foul was called. :o

Recognizing that this was a minor aside in your breaking news  ::), but in the interest of accuracy, Mike Smithey's team *reached* the Little League World Series.  They didn't win it.

That there's some nice sleuthing, kiko. Not that I want to dissuade D.O.C. from showing up here anymore, but on CCIW Chat you either show up with your facts in order or you go home with your hat in your hand. ;)

Remind me again, Mark: What was your time in the 40-yard balderdash back in high school?

I think UWSP's high ranking is further evidence (as if any more was needed) that it's still too early to take Massey very seriously.

The same can undoubtedly be said for St. Norbert; the Green Knights have a nice team this year, but that #3 ranking's a little on the silly side.

I thought the board might find this interesting since it answers the as yet unanswered (I think) question that comes up every now and then:
