Glad to hear Marietti is returning.  Any report, Q, on Nelson or Heyen?

Good luck to the TITANS out West.  Let's hope they play well and bring home two Ws.

Brandon Heyen has been practicing with the team and continues to work to get back to 100%.  He will work out locally while the team is in California in hopes to be ready for conf. play.

Thanks URock.  Hope the TITANS are all healthy by early January, including Nelson, Nelms, Marietti and Heyen.  Coach Rose has lots of weapons.

Looking forward to the CCIW race.

Happy New Year all.

On the face of it, looks like the TITANS don't have too too serious a challenge out west in this Lutheran tourney,  CLU is 4-2 with several games lost to postponement or cancellation.  Nazareth is 2-3.  Fontbonne, who the TITANS have played in previous seasons, is 2-6 with losses already to EC, Wash U and a 50+ point blowout loss to Augie.  Guess they want a lot of CCIW medicine before starting their conference campaign.  Would be nice to enter CCIW play at 9-2.

A thought or two on the Titans so far:  1)  Incredible depth and range of talent, due in large part to the emergence of newbies from the JV squad, especially Seibring and Coyle, but also a wide range of rotational, bench contributors 2) Overstreet having an outstanding year so far 3) Titans shooting a high volume of threes, but not really hitting at that great a percentage so far 4) Nelson just hasn't found his form yet, and, in must be said, Overstreet, Dolan, Stempel, Pennington, and Sodemann all playing better than Nelson so far 5) concerns earlier about rebounding and scoring in the paint have largely been laid to rest by the fine play, excellent rebounding of Coyle, Seibring, Bausch so far -- Marietti returning will only bolster this strength  (Overstreet a great rebounder from the PG position) 6) will be nice to get everyone back, healthy and in sync, esp. Nelson finding his game, Marietti returning, Nelms available now as another PG backup after the ankle sprain, and even perhaps some useful minutes from Heyen 7) biggest pleasant developments so far for me are -- very high quality play on offense and defence by Seibring ably holding down the 5, active and good contributions by Bausch, and high quality, high shooting percentage and on-ball defensive minutes from Pennington off the bench.

Titans have a tough CCIW opening phase -- with very tough road games at NCC and WC.  It's going to be a great CCIW race.  Yes, I agree that 11-3 will likely do it.  Getting to twenty wins a challenge for all the top CCIW squads this year.

Good luck to the TITANS out west.  Enjoy the California sunshine.  Bring home two Ws.

Except that against the only CCIW title caliber opponent the Titans have faced (Wash U), they were manhandled on the boards 45-33, leading to 22 second chance Wash U points.

I hear you Q, take your point.  All the more important that Marietti is back, hopefully fresh.  Seibring is going to wear down, unless he did an awful lot of off-season training. He's still a young player in CCIW experience terms.  Yes, rebounding and paint production could still be an issue against the top teams, esp. AC and NCC.

Happy New Year to all the CCIW chatsters.

NCC goes to 9-1, winning 76-54 over Olivet.

Overpriced, no WIAC team.

I was wondering if quality of videos were good, I'm not worried about it being "overpriced"

augiefan

Augie beats Luther 87-59.  Game was fairly close with 17 minutes to go (38-31), but all Augie after that.
