It looks like there is clear separation between top four and bottom four at the moment, but I would not be a bit surprised if the bling-spangled Vikings have erased the gap at this time next week.  Then it gets really interesting.

I could easily see a scenario play out where NPU and North Central meet in the regular season finale with the fourth conference tournament berth on the line, and both the Vikes' earlier win over North Central and the Cardinals tiebreaker-friendly win over Illinois Wesleyan looming large in the equation.

And wonder why Moten only played 10 mins?

He left with some type of lower body injury early in the game (ankle maybe?).  He tweeted the following a few minutes ago...

Jaymeson Moten ‏@sneakym0tives
Be back in less than 3 weeks. Squad will cover for me until then! Be scared when we make playoffs! #keepmovingforward

Moten was helped to the locker room at game end.  He was hopping on one leg, leaning on another person and appeared to be in some pain.  Not sure when the injury occurred as I caught only the last few minutes.

The quality of the Carthage stream, coverage and commentary is superb.

The Carthage and Elmhurst streams are both outstanding.  Both are way more than just video stream...they have some really nice production to them.  EC even has replays.  Kudos to both schools.

IWU's stream is honestly kind of embarrassing.  Right now it's just marginal quality video with no broadcast of any sort -- not even any sound in the last game.  Either find a way to connect the WJBC audio in (not hard to coordinate really), or find two eager students who are willing to give broadcasting a shot -- there are plenty of kids on campus who'd love to do it.  It just seems like there is very little effort being put into this now and that kind of bugs me.  Oh well.
agree on Carthage (great job by announcer last night) and Elmhurst.  I don't mind the no announcer or play by play as long as the court side PA announcer on audio.  The play by play by the two guys sitting behind the scorers table at IWU gets a little weary.  The IWU video would be better if the camera was in focus and the camera person stooped zooming in and out for close ups.  Please keep the half court shot.  For all, if not going to have the time in the graphics with the score for pete's sake show the score board once in a while!

Conversely, it could be NPU's tie-breaker win over Augustana that comes into play.

Wash. U lost today in St. Louis before a frenzied crowd of 302. The Bears are now 15-3. Chicago won today at home before a ___________ (fill in your adjective) crowd of 82. Wonder if that counts the ticket takers, band, and the JVs in street clothes. Wash. U. now 4-3 in the league and Chicago is 5-2. Chicago has very good young talent with more good freshmen next fall. And IWU has to play at Chicago in December. I always thought Mike McGrath was a good xs and 0s coach. But playing before a home crowd of 82 must be a detriment in recruiting. A Carthage fan was complaining about the small crowd last night and how IWU on a Sat. night would always be the best attendance of the year. The attendance was 600+.

Back in December 1969 I went to consecutive home games at Wash U where they had crowds of 25 and 10 (and I'm including two large Irish wolfhounds that howled through the entire National Anthem and then fled across court closely followed by their owner and the three never returned reducing the crowd to seven).
I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

NPU opens the season against Chicago next year in the crackerbox.

Are you serious, Lanny? "A detriment in recruiting?" This is the University of Chicago we're talking about. The U of C is one of the premier universities on the entire planet. That school's faculty has won more Nobel Prizes than any other university in the world. It's where the atom was first split back in 1942. In terms of academic cachet you can mention the U of C in the same breath as Oxford, Cambridge, the Sorbonne, Harvard, or whatever other school you like.

Basketball player or not, if you don't want to attend the University of Chicago because the attendance at the home games in Ratner isn't to your liking, then you're not smart enough to go to the University of Chicago in the first place.

Sometimes I wonder if all Illinois Wesleyan fans have developed double-jointed shoulders from patting themselves on the back so much. ::)

It is going to be hard to get a large crowd at most Division III schools at Noon on Super Bowl Sunday, but the Bears had an estimated 1,500 in the stands on Friday with a very good atmosphere.

Washington University is 4-3 in league play, but they are 3-0 against CCIW schools.  It is too early for others to get excited about that conference record.  They lost at home today, but they play very tough at home and only have Case Western Reserve and Emory left of the top conference teams on the road.

Sunday at noon in any season of the year is a terrible time to host a sporting event, unless it's an NFL game for which you're paying $85 per ticket. It's silly to badmouth the UAA for poor attendance based upon noon Sunday tipoff times.

If there was any other way to work the league schedule, given the unusual circumstances of the UAA's geography and academic requirements, I'm sure that the league wouldn't be scheduling noon Sunday games.

Our future lives may be worse because of our behavior in our current life, but I'll take the risk and say that that has to be the funniest thing I have ever read on D3boards.com.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but maybe, just maybe, the blizzard warning in the Chicago area had a wee bit of an impact on attendance.

You tell the recruit your mom, dad, relatives and all your friends can come watch you play and sit wherever they want!

Thanks Q.  I got to admit though -  We border between being irritated and laughing hysterically
