Big games tonight -- looking forward to the great match-up at The Shirk.  Go TITANS!

IWU70

Ah, 70----

Isn't that The Shirk Center For Athletics and Recreation? C'mon man. Get with the program.  :D  ;)

After overcoming long odds Wed night and vanquishing the Vikings in Rock Island, the NCC Cardinals will attempt to turn the same trick to trump the Titans tonight in Bloomington.

In so doing, the Cards will employ the same basic battle plan used in Wednesday's triumph. Besides dictating the pace, perimeter defense, and rebounding will be keys. Part of the Cardinals strategy will come in the pre-game phase of the evening when they gently remind tonight's officials that Mike Marietti doesn't know how to set a screen without moving during the process. If you don't believe that, watch some IWU film.  ;)

With some aid from the officials, North Central will also attempt to disprove Ron Rose's First Theorem of IWU Basketball.  ::)
However, if previous comments from Professor Sager are on target, the men from Naperville better hope Fritz Larsen isn't a member of tonight's officiating crew.

The redbirds left a little Cardinal blood in Rock Island. Will the spots on the Wesleyan floor tonight be Cardinal red or Titan green?

Can I vote for Cardinal brown? ;D

This is clearly on a different level of importance from Pat's issue, but if you're talking to Kevin anyway, can you suggest a different word for a vikings win besides "upends".  I swear it's like 75% of the time he uses that word on the website.  Sorry, just a totally unreasonable little annoyance that popped up again.

I'll mention it to him. It's a nice problem to have, isn't it? ;)

Maybe give him a chart that explains the monkey stomp scale so he can appropriately calibrate whether something is a single, double, or triple...  ::)

AO, you are quite right -- I should get with the program and use the full name . . . the game tonight near Tucci Stadium at Wilder Field.

Should be a good one.   Some big bodies banging . . . key for the Titans is shooting a good percentage from three -- as I know those shots will be there.  Of course, IWU bigs have to hold their own against the NCC bigs.

As far as I've seen, monkey stomp rules have never been applied to sports other than football.  We may have to adapt some different standards (and terms) for other sports! ;)

I vote for "baboon squish."

Sounds like a possibility - but what are the standards for a single, double, or triple squish?

The North Park women upended Millikin, 65-63.

Sorry, I couldn't pass that one up.  And I agree with you, TJ.

Haha well played Mr_B.

And yes Greg, it is a good problem to have.

Augustana 60
Carthage 29

That's not a typo. Carthage only shot 13% from the field (6-45).
