If you're an Elmhurst fan, you've gotta like the fact that Dubuque just won the IIAC tourney.

Amen!  Elmhurst also has a win over them.

Does anyone think NCC will stay in the Central Region's rankings?  EC's only wins over regionally
ranked opponents are Dubuque and IWU.  They also have 2 wins over NCC and they held the 8th
spot in the last regional rankings.

I do not see the current central region ranking changing in terms of teams. You could make a case for flipping Elmhurst and NCC positions. WashU win over UChgo certainly helps keep NCC and Elmhurst in the rankings.  The next larger question - will they make it into the tournament?  The answer maybe - how fast do the central teams ahead of them come off the board?

UWSP and WashU should be among the first five taken; IWU should be gone at least by the tenth.  Plenty of time for Elmhurst and/or NCC to reach the table.

My Pool C projection - http://www.d3boards.com/index.php?topic=4232.msg1659790#msg1659790.

I have IWU in at #11 and Elmhurst very safely in at #12.  I have NCC at the table for the final 7 rounds but not selected due to the winning % number.

I just glanced quickly and it seems like your projections are reasonable.  I could see IWU a spot or two higher and EC a spot or two lower but I think you are very accurate with your projections.
I will look more closely in a few hours.

Thanks for your hard work on this, Q!

I want to believe it's true!

Elmhurst's .551 SOS and 4-4 results vs regional ranked - both the win total (4) and the total number of games (8) - should have the Bluejays very safely in as I see it.  I certainly could be wrong, but I don't really see any bubble drama at all.

Regarding North Central, the Cardinals definitely have a chance here.  Again, they should be on the board for a while...certainly enough time to get a great look.

And the whole time they're on the board, they are likely to have the best SOS and vRRO status - their problem will be win%.  I'm predicting they will squeeze in at the very end (though, of course, we will never know the order of the picks).

Q, you must be pretty confident that North Central will stay in the central region's rankings?
That would mean a lot to Elmhurst to be 4-4 vs. regional ranked instead of 2-4.

It would also mean a lot to NCC and would give them a chance to be selected.

Off the top of your head, who would jump NCC? Not Concordia.  Not NACC #1 seed Aurora who lost to Concordia. No MWC team. Not Oshkosh. Off the top of my head, I can't think of anyone.

And also lost to North Central.  ;)

Pat Coleman and Dave McHugh are on Pool C spot #19 on their Mock Selection show - debating NCC vs several others for that final spot.  I think it is safe to say that NCC is very much in the mix right at the very end of the process.  (They took WPI in that final spot.)

They had IWU in at #6, and Elmhurst at maybe #13 or so.  IWU is pretty much a lock...and I think Elmhurst, while deeper down the list, is definitely in.

Shout Out to IWU's Bryce Dolan. Great year. Keep working hard. Washington, MO is Proud.

Bryce may have thoughts of his Borgia HS Coach Dave Nierer on his mind. Coach had emergency heart surgery to install stents about a week ago. The young man has grown up.
