Today's the Day, Titan Nation. "All In" for IWU.  Give til it hurts.

IWU'70

It hurts just hearing about it.   ;D

+k

If I could give it 1,000 +k, I would. ;)

Lauren Hill, RIP.  For the Love of the Game.  Excellent example for D3 athletics.

Coach K's halftime "advocacy" prompted the refs to call 13 fouls against Wisconsin in the second half and Duke got whistled for 13 fouls during the entire game.

IWU recruit names I have seen on Twitter...

* Nick Coleman, 6-2 PG/SG (St. Patrick H.S., Chicago)
* Mark Falotico, 6-1 PG/SG (St. Viator H.S., Chicago)
* Ben Sestak, 6-6 SF (Sacred Heart-Griffin H.S., Springfield)

Titan, I guess you'll have to take up the 2 omissions with Dave Wrath, one of the CCIW good guys.

Greek Tragedy

How many D3 schools are in Illinois? They couldn't narrow it down to one? Almost sounds like they didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings so they gave it to all 3.  :'( ??? :P ;D

There are 22 D3 men's basketball programs in Illinois. I doubt that this award will be prominently placed on anybody's mantel.

AndOne

Had the pleasure of being a guest at the annual North Central Basketball Awards Banquet this afternoon.
Jack Burchett and Charlie Rosenberg picked up their All-Conference certificates and plaques, and the following awards were presented:

Scholarship award--Kevin Honn
Defensive POY--Brandon White (player vote)
Most Valuable Player--Jack Burchett (player vote)

Titan Q

Ron Rose and the Titans have received a verbal commitment from Chasen Peez, a 6-7/225 F/C from Batavia H.S..  Peez was named to the Upstate 8 River all-conference team.

From the highlight videos, looks a very active/mobile big man who does good things with his back to the basket down low, off the dribble, and from beyond the arc.  Seems to have a nice upside as a CCIW post.

I really hate having to pursue those little green buggers with my fork as they roll around my plate.

Fork?! :o

I eat my peas with honey.
I've done it all my life.
It makes the peas taste funny,
But it keeps them on my knife.

(*I've seen it attributed to Ogden Nash - and it sounds like something he might write - but it is not in any collection of Nash that I've seen.)

I imagine that Chasen Peez has heard every bad joke his name could inspire; hopefully he has a thick skin (and a great jump shot!). ;D
