Some early recognition for CCIW players.  Juwan Henry may move up.

2015-16 preseason men's All-America team

The D3hoops.com preseason All-America team is chosen from previous years' All-American and All-Region nominations.

As delighted as all NPU fans are to see Juwan Henry named to the d3hoops.com preseason All-America team, it's a little bizarre to see him listed as a forward.

Pat must be pitching in to help keep North Park from any accusations of guard-hoarding by moving our 5'10 star to the frontcourt. ;)

Hah -- that was not intentional, I knew better. That spot was up for grabs between a couple of guards and forwards and I'll fix it.

So NCC has the same number of guards as IWU? Which is less than 5 other CCIW teas? And we are still talking about guard hoarding?

North Pa rk does have 16 guards listed on the roster, but since the Vikings will employ a three-guard lineup most of the time (as they have for the last several seasons), I'm not sure that the Theory of Hoardativity really applies to NPU.

The ball's in your court, Augustana.

About damn time the ball got out of IWU's court, and especially the borderline libelous allegations about the Ron Rose-Brady Rose favoritism.  Considering that IWU does an extensive JV schedule, the numbers look about right to me.  There will always be some drop-outs and some injuries - having more than a bare minimum is just following the Boy Scout motto: Be Prepared.

Why did you bring them back up, then, Chuck? That seems pretty silly. Let the sleeping dogs sleep.

I may be getting senile on time (retirement can do that to you ::)) - I thought the latest allegations were only a few days ago.  If the dogs had been sleeping longer, I apologize for disturbing them.
Oh senility set in before retirement😋

Carthage roster is up:

For those keeping score, 12 guards listed.

I think I'm most excited to see Jason Wiertel listed as an assistant coach.

Can't wait to hear Bosko's take on being ranked last in the conference standings...should be priceless!

Good to hear from you, K-Mark.

Carthage's program seems to be a long way from the time this Chicago Tribune article was written.

Hi Bob,

Still stalking the board...thanks for the article....hate to live in the past, but those players bring back such good memories.

Players may still be coming from Illinois, just such a drop off in talent from Jason's days.

Reading that Trib article almost a full decade and a half after reading it the first time around, I confess that I was completely thrown by the Cade McNown reference in the third sentence. It was as though my brain had blown out its tires by backing up across a one-way spike strip.

Bosko blew a gasket last year when CC was picked for 7th. He wound up 6th so he exceeded expectations, but the treat was his very logical explanation that he couldn't possibly finish 7th because he had never before had a team that finished 7th.

A related article to the story was regarding Elmhurst and how they were closing in on the CCIW championship.  Did Elmhurst end up winning that season?

As the basketball season returns, it may not be uncommon to wonder....what ever happened to so and so....i.e. did Joel become a Doctor, what firm is Keelan working for, where is Rob Garnes these days.

I came across a name from the past the other day.  A prolific 3 point shooter for North Central for 6 or 7 games back in 2009 before he left the team for unspecified reasons, Kyle Julius.

Kyle made $2.5MM on the professional poker tournament last year.   How 'bout that stuff !

Early results are in from the new Carthage SID....and they are not good.  His recaps read like they were written by my 6th grader.

No, he hasn't, but that's not the point.
That he had never had a team finish 7th was not a logical or valid reason why last year's team couldn't finish in that position. True?

badgerwarhawk

All I'm saying (with winking intent) is that he said he wouldn't finish 7th and he didn't.  There's probably more than one reason for that.  Admittedly I wouldn't necessarily rank his reason as the most likely.  Though I don't know that makes it invalid or illogical.

AO, you're an NCC guy aren't you?  What it is about Bosko that causes you to dislike him so much.  Your liking or disliking him doesn't really matter to me but I just curious why you might feel this strongly.
