I'm finding the repetitive use of video replay by Elmhurst annoying.  I am missing too much real-time action.  33-33 with five minutes left in the first half.
Once a metalhead, always a metalhead.  Matthew 5:13.

IWU up by two, 30-28 at the half, @The Shirk.

There is a certain second semester transfer for NPU that is playing far too many minutes IMHO - tonight and then again at home vs Wheaton is what I've seen.  He may have more fouls than points scored in his Viking career.

Titans go down to Augie at home, 77-60.  A close game for most of the time, with Augie pulling away in the second half, second part.  TOs and rebounding the problem for the Titans tonight.  Coyle with 17,  Ben Ryan a big game for the Doggies.

IWU is going to struggle to get into the top four for the CCIW tournament.  Gotta win at home.

Overtime final from Faganel:

Elmhurst 91
North Park 88

It never should've gone to OT. NPU should've won in regulation.

My kingdom for a free throw. :(

Elmhurst 91, North Park 88 (OT)

Jordan Robinson: 31 pts (4-10 trey), 12 rebs
Juwan Henry: 30 pts (5-10 trey), 8 rebs
Colin Lake: 12 pts, 4 stls

Erik Crittenden: 19 pts, 6 rebs
Bryant Ackerman: 12 pts
Kyle Wuest: 11 pts, 6 rebs
Will Nixon: 11 pts, 12 rebs

My new definition of difficult: Trying to call the end of a close women's game in the crackerbox while keeping one eye on the end of a close men's game in another gym via a live stream.

With 28 seconds left and the Vikings up, 79-77, Juwan Henry -- an 80% free-throw shooter for the season -- missed the front end of a one-and-one. The biggest shock of it all is that he's about as money at the end of a close game as any player I can ever remember seeing in a North Park uniform. Erik Crittenden tied the game on a jumper with eight seconds left, and the Vikings just couldn't hang in overtime. (Again, missed FTs helped dig a self-made hole for the Vikes in the extra session.)

Painful.

Titan Q

Augustana 77
IWU 60

http://www.iwusports.com/boxscore.aspx?id=3489&path=mbball

* Ben Ryan: 22 pts, 9 reb, 3 assists
* Brandon Motzel: 12 pts, 10 reb
* Griffin Pils: 11 pts, 3 reb, 3 assists

* Ryan Coyle: 17 pts, 3 reb
* Trevor Seibring: 15 pts, 8 reb

IWU led by 2 at the half, but Augie controlled the 2nd.  The Titans were out-rebounded 41-29 and turned it over 18 times...not a real good formula for success.

The Titans are not in very good shape for that #4 spot at this point.

Titans have a little room to build a deeper hole.  But, if they do, I hope they like fried rice because they will be dining in Hong Kong with '70😃🙄😛

Augustana played like a D3 championship team in the 2nd half tonight. Terrific defense, as always and a very efficient and unselfish offense with great passing leading to many easy baskets. I doubt if Jawan Straughter will make any all-conf team, but he is a very valuable piece of this polished Augie team. Don't know how the brackets will shape up, but an Augie/Ohio Wesleyan title game in Salem is must see TV (I think title game is on some regional TV network).

You're not alone. I couldn't watch tonight (was at the Bulls game watching them get run off the floor by the Warriors) but it was the same story in the Wesleyan game. Not only does the replay last too long, it also runs after plays that don't need replay.

Isolated incidence, Greg. Overall NPU is 2nd in the conference in FT%.  :)
NCC is the one who should most often offer their kingdom for a FT.  >:

Perhaps, instead of a FT, your kingdom for a big man in the middle?  8-)

North Central 97
Carthage       68

* Alex Sorenson, 12/14 shooting with 3/4 3 pt, 27 points, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks
* Connor Raridon, 17 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists
* Kevin Honn, 7/9 shooting, 15 points, 7 rebounds.

* Jordan Kedrowski, 16 points,
* Drew Joiner, 10 points

In a game that, as expected, was basically over before it even started, North Central dominated Carthage by a score of 97-68. Despite the final margin of 28, it seemed, in fact, like the final differential was more like 38. Carthage just doesn't have any bigs or any type of an interior game on either end, and seems powerless to stop any opponent who does. They do seem to possess good overall team quickness, which affords them the opportunity to drive, along with decent 3 point shooting ability. Unless they can make a very high percentage of their three point attempts, or drive and finish consistently, they appear to have very little chance of winning.

This was head coach Todd Raridon's 200th victory at NCC. With 5 more wins, he will become the Cardinals all time leader.

Hmmm..... although it feels a tad literal, perhaps when that torch passes I should evolve my occasional namecheck for the Cards from Sons of Warden to Sons of Raridon.
