2009 Wheaton and Elmhurst both hosted 1st and 2nd round games.  That's pretty close.

Correct.  And eventual champ Wash U had to travel to play at the Elmhurst pod, beat Stevens Point or Whitewater(forgot which) to advance, and the next weekend traveled to Wheaton where they beat the Thunder and St Thomas to get out of the B.o.D.  Salem was a relative walk in the park after that.

Ah yes, I remember the 2009 games at Wheaton.  That was some kind of basketball !

Elmhurst 60
North Central 58

Very exciting game.

Quite a finish!  That win may save the Bluejays.

A great game. The kind of game that makes D III basketball special. Both of those teams deserve a tourney bid.

I strongly disagree.

That was one of the best weekends of high-quality basketball I've ever seen hereabouts.

Why did Henry not start Saturday's game vs. NCC?

Tom Slyder either wanted to reward Ray Rubio or punish Juwan Henry for performance in practice. Don't put too much stock in the starting lineups for NPU, as Tom Slyder is much more flexible as to who starts and who comes off the bench than are other coaches. Juwan Henry will inevitably get somewhere between 35 and 40 minutes of playing time, regardless of whether or not he starts.

I think that the 'jays won this one on the boards. EC had a huge rebounding advantage, especially on the offensive glass. Like Dan Sand, I'm a little puzzled as to why NCC was playing for the win on the final possession rather than the tie.

EC needed those rebounds.  They only shot 39%.  Elmhurst did not shoot well in all 3 games against NCC this season.

IWU is getting Straughtered...

I have long been looking for the excuse to use that.  Please forgive me.

Nice!

But IWU up at the half, 36-28.  Some pretty good D on Augie so far.

I'm surprised Sorenson didn't put it back up right at the end when he grabbed Raridon's miss.

Definitely appeared he had a shot at it!

OT in RI.  Titans giving Augie all they can handle.

Gregory Sager

Dan Sand is being very critical of Grey Giovanine on the broadcast right now -- and Dan is dead-on correct. Augie had IWU on the ropes with the press, and then the Doggies inexplicably backed off.

IWU's played very well, but I think that Augie gave the Titans a big assist to send this one into overtime by taking off the press.
