I know I'm a couple days late in acknowledging this here on the board, but thanks for the kind words, Q, IWU70, robertgoulet, Augiefan. It's been a fun run and CCIW Chat has been a big part of what's made D3hoops.com enjoyable for me over the past 19 years (and sometimes a small part in what's made it frustrating, sure, just not as much in the past decade).

I won't be a stranger but you might have to get to Salem to see me in the future. Or get to a football game. Keep on keepin' on and don't give Gordon and Dave a hard time. Thanks. :)

Pat - thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!

We promise not to give Gordon or Dave any hard time than we gave you :o ::)

Pat,
Thanks for all that you and your team have done for the way we follow division 3 athletics today. Before D3sports all we had was a crappy news letter that came out once a month. 😊
Your innovation is truly a game changer.
CARDINAL PRIDE STARTS WITH ME!

I already said this in longer form on Facebook a day or two ago, but ... thanks, Pat, for everything you've done for D3 basketball fans!

Pat: Can't begin to thank you enough for creating D3hoops. What a joy to come home from a road CCIW game in Jan. and Feb. and spend a half hour on CCIW chat and get to bed at 12:45! The CCIW chat comments are a huge topic of conversation at IWU on Thursdays and Mondays during conf season. Hope to see you in Salem sometime in future.

Benedictine and Whitworth got the two official byes.  Augustana got an unofficial bye in meeting Westminster which has a 12-15 record.  A bit of a scrimmage, I'd say, to get them ready for Round 2.

Folks, just five more hours to enter the men's D-III bracket challenge before tonight's tipoff!

Following a 9:00 departure this morning, the NCC Cardinals held a good 90 minute practice at St. Norbert this afternoon in preparation for their 1st round national tournament game vs. St. Olaf at 5:00 tomorrow afternoon.
While nothing can be taken for granted at win or go home time, the Cards appear to have gotten a pretty favorable draw both in terms of location and opponent(s). Rather than a very lengthy journey to possible locations such as St. Thomas, John Carroll, or Ohio Wesleyan, NCC had only a 216 mile ride to SNC.
NCC (19-7), who played D3's toughest schedule this season, takes on St. Olaf (18-9) tomorrow afternoon at 5:00. St. Olaf, who advanced to the Round of 16 last year, comes in having won 9 of their last 10. The Oles feature a big lineup with their starters standing 6/0, 6/4, 6/6, 6/7, and 6/8. They average a combined 61.7 PPG, and 19.8 RPG. The NCC starters come in at 56.9 PPG, and 26.0 RPG, collectively. Prior to last Saturday's loss to #17 Elmhurst in the CCIW tourney, the Cardinals only losses since Dec 6th, were to the #1 and #2 teams in the country.
Host St. Norbert (23-2) takes on Northwestern, MN (22-5) in the 2nd game tomorrow.

Good luck to the CCIW teams as the Tournament begins -- make some noise for the CCIW.

There's at least one common opponent too.... NC beat UWSP, and the Pointers beat both St. Norbert and St. Olaf earlier in the year.
