Not much to say about last night's disappointing loss. UST simply was the better team and overcame the Augie home court advantage. The end of some great careers for he Augie seniors. Now it's back to the drawing board for a major rebuild at Augie.

I certainly hope the two remaining Midwest teams making the finals. I have not seen Benedictine play, but they certainly have dominated all year. I'll go with the Illinois team in the final.

Congrats to LeRoy High on their title. Mark E. Is fortunate to have had 6' 6" Matt Chastain leading his team to the title. I have followed Matt Chastain because he is close with a family I know in LeRoy. He is a rare DI prospect coming up of the tiny 1A classification in Illinois. He has scholarship offers from Valpo, Loyola and a few others. Bigger schools might be missing up on a hidden gem. The kid is very athletic.
Wouldn't you love to see a best 3 or best of 5 Augie v St Thomas? That would be outstanding.  I know, only in dreams.

No, I'm actually curious what the lowest number of non-conference wins has been.

That is some serious graduation losses, yes?

I don't think it's any secret that there has been some amount of friction between Nadlelhoffer and Sims. Maybe Sims decided to end is college experience.

Gregory Sager

... or maybe he's simply decided to continue it somewhere other than Millikin. We've had no indication that he's a poor or indifferent student; the only thing that we know about him, aside from his stellar basketball abilities, is that he's occasionally insubordinate and difficult to coach. It is therefore worse than unfair to infer from the fact that he's not on the 2016-17 MU roster that he may now be a college dropout (or will become one in May).

....or perhaps veteran unintentionally implied that he would become a college dropout when his true meaning was that Sims may have decided to end his college basketball experience-at least at Millikin?

Gregory Sager

That could be. But I'm not a mind reader, nor do I play one on TV.

(Heck, I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. ;))

Seriously, though, Sims is such an outstanding player that I'd be shocked if he pulled a Kent Raymond (or, perhaps more fittingly, pulled a Drew Gensler) and gave up playing the sport on the intercollegiate level in order to become a regular student.

My 2003 logic 104 class from UW Fox Valley would suggest there is a distinct possibility he will end up a transfer player at UW Whitewater.  They like them you know.
