Wheaton roster updated.  Numbers continue to go down. 15 players.  No Dillard.  No Trae Masten.

And no seniors.

Quote from: AndOne on October 25, 2016, 08:26:59 PMI am not going to page back to find it but, sometime during the late spring or early summer, i'm pretty sure one poster, when speculating on this coming season's lineups, made reference that inferred somewhat of a clash of personalities between Dillard and Schauer.

I had no idea whether or not there was a clash of personalities between Murad Dillard and Mike Schauer, but the way that Dillard's appearances and minutes seemed to yo-yo throughout the season led me to wonder if he was spending some time in Mike's doghouse. That sort of variation in playing time often has more to do with a player's practice habits, or his inability to comprehend or execute what the coach is telling him to do in games. That's not necessarily a personality clash between coach and player. (Such a yo-yo kind of season for a player could also have to do with matchups and/or roster circumstances.)

When I was on the Wheaton campus on Saturday to call a football game I asked a program insider if he knew why Dillard wasn't going to play this year, especially since he went with the team on the trip to Israel this summer. I was told that Dillard just didn't want to play. That could mean anything, but it's the answer we have and I'm fine with letting it go at that.

The news about Masten surprises me more, because it seemed like he was supposed to be Wheaton's Next Big Thing. I'm with you on Morrison's disappearance, though, as that didn't surprise me at all, either. There's a reason why you don't see a lot of prep guys on the D3 level.

Millikin's roster at 25, with 14 "true" freashmen.
Lots of learnin' going on down there in Decatur.

Preseason poll is up. NCC got seven of the nine first place votes and is 10 points ahead of Illinois Wesleyan, who got a first place vote, and Augie finished third with the last one. North Park would round out the tournament field if the poll represented the standings.

[Well, Stu or someone must have read the posts because the description is now "Redshirt Sophomore"

Nothing changed.  The mobile version says "redshirt sophomore" and the web version says "R-So."

Again, I am guessing they will change to "Jr."
Thanks!  I checked the mobile version (and, one would think the data could be kept in sync between the two).  I vote for changing back to junior.  The whole red shirt thing at any level is confusing and the class year standing, particularly at DIII, the most important with respect to why these kids are in college in the first place.
Whew! At least on the mobile version now "Junior"

But if he was granted a medical hardship, he is NOT a junior athletically.
He is in his 3rd year of school academically, having used one year of athletic eligibility.
Basketball playing wise this makes him a sophomore.
What is the problem?
You would think the guys in athletic administration down there in Bloomington had never encountered or even heard of this situation before. 🤔 🤓  ::)  :o

NCC SCRIMMAGE:

@ Univ. of Chicago at 1:00 PM on Sunday 11/6.

Wish I was able to make the above reported scrimmage. Would be fun to see if the Cardinals use the game-like scrimmage conditions to further develop the "go big" lineup that they have been working on in practice. The lineup features a 6'6" PG and a 6'8" 2G along with two 6'7" posts, and a (midget) 6'3" wing.  ???  :o  8-)

This may not be the ideal page for this query, but does anyone know if there will be an "Undefeated and Winless" contest, as there has been the past few seasons?  I can't find that page.  If so, when can we make our picks?

Is there a better page to post this question?

They moved all the pick'ems and fantasy into a separate sub board on the Multi-Region Board.  If you click on Multi-Region there will be an extra link near the top of the page to get there.
