I'm just a dad having fun teasing his son about a potential defensive assignment.  All good here.
Btw, is it normal for conference games to be so early?  We played them after semester, in hopes of some guys being ineligible?  :D

Good question, though. And welcome to the board!

Welcome indeed. Our friends 79jaybird and jaybird44 can use some help!  ;)

As far as I know, the MWC is playing a full round robin 18-game conference schedule this year. You guys stole Carroll University, leaving the MWC with 10 teams.

Yep, which is why I said "up until this coming season."

Um, jaybird44 is not an Elmhurst fan. That's broadcaster Jay Murry, the voice of Wash U sports.

Not a problem, Greg.

The sentence, "...because the MWC played an 18-game conference sked up until this coming season..." makes it sound like they aren't playing an 18-game conference schedule anymore, in my opinion. Even when you explain the round robin concept, I just took it as they aren't doing 18 anymore. I suppose I just misunderstood your post!  ???  ;D  :)

Yes, but I have it on good authority that the Bluejays are his fav CCIW team.  ;)
It's a kinship thing with Mr. Murry sharing his first name with the latter part of the EC nickname.  :D

Would you like one of our other teams in exchange for CU?  :)

The WIAC just got rid of Superior so we don't need any of your leftovers! Ask the MWC guys. Maybe they'd take Carthage.

Is Arsenault Jr rambunctious?  Because he's Grinnell's interim coach now.

We released our preseason All-Americans with a handful of CCIW reps, including a couple near and dear to Greg Sager's heart.

One 'glaring' omission (IMO) - barring injury, I'm willing to bet a fair amount that Titan Trevor Seibring will be on your postseason AA list. ;)

How close was John Carroll's David Linane to making this list?

Close enough that I had to double check he wasn't on it anywhere.

He wasn't omitted. He was thoroughly considered. Ultimately the thought was to let him play himself onto the post-season team. Lots of good players around the country. It got to the point of really splitting hairs.

Also thoroughly considered. Debate was long and there were many candidates as the last few spots were selected. One thing going against guards this pre-season was the fact that there were more guards left over from last year's post-season AAs than forwards. Less spots to fill.

Until Sr. is actually gone and Jr. has the interim tag removed and remains their head coach... I refer to Sr. :)

All very worthy of selection.  And all, IMHO, to be superseded by Trevor Seibring as CCIW MOP.

I guess we will find out in a few months.
