With the Vikings idle tonight, I've got the games from Wheaton, North Central, Millikin, and Elmhurst up on the computers, along with the NPU women's game at Carroll.

I feel like CCIW Mission Control. :)

MU leads IWU at the half 24-22.  MU playing the Titans tough, poor trey shooting by IWU.

All four of the underdogs -- Carroll, Elmhurst, Wheaton, and Millikin -- are winning at the half.

Well, go Carroll, Elmhurst, and Wheaton. ;D  Notice an underdog missing from the well-wishes? 8-)

Highlight of the night so far: Bosko Djurickovic and John Baines yelling at each other nose-to-nose at the scorer's table.

Titans do enough to get the road win, 65-53.

Rose 15
Coleman 14 on 4-5 from trey
Seibring still looking pretty tentative.

MU played the Titans tough, staying pretty close almost the entire game.

Titans only 15-26 from the charity stripe.  Not good enough in closer games.

It's a CCIW road win and we'll take it.

Carthage and Elmhurst going to overtime, as Dotlich hit a trey from the top of the key with four seconds left.

The Red Men came back from a 21-point deficit with thirteen minutes and change left in this one, and actually led most of the way in crunch time.

WOW!   Shauers post game comments specifically called out the Augustana football players for some of the comments made during the game. He did congratulate Giovanine and the players, but I didn't know he had such a good grasp of the Augie football roster.  Very strange.

Refs just made a terrible call with four seconds left in the extra session and the game tied at Faganel. Brad Kruse drove into Marquis Carter, who had been planted for a full second and a half in Kruse's path, but it was called a block. Kruse made both FTs, and that could end up being the game.

Carthage wins, 93-91. To be fair to the Red Men, Elmhurst blew it at the free-throw line at the end of overtime (the 'jays had a lead that bounced back and forth between three and five for most of the OT), and Carthage did a great job of trapping Carter in the backcourt to force a turnover in the final half-minute that set up the winning free throws by Kruse. But that was a really bad call by the officials, and it decided the game.

Well, to be fair to Mike Schauer, it's usually not hard to determine whether or not a group of college-aged males are football players, even if you don't know who they are.

He really did lay into those Augie football players, though. He said that he complained to Grey about them, and that he's going to give Chris Martin a phone call about them, too. I didn't have the sound up on that game the whole way through (I got tired of the Wheaton broadcasters referring to Dylan "Sore-tee-ya"), but I did hear a popular barnyard epithet chanted a few times from what sounded like a group of males not too far from the camera mic after calls went against Augie.
