Good luck Vikings.

Watching the live stream, which by the way was one of the best I've seen with no buffering, pixeling etc, I thought it was funny when at the conclusion of the game one of the broadcasters stated something to the effect that it was the first time the Vikings had been challenged in the playoffs and they had handled it well.  I can't remember his exact words but I wondered if he had spent last weekend in a cave somewhere.   ;)
Hope does an outstanding job with the video broadcast.  Their announcers do tend to be "homers" often putting down an opponent with minimizing why Hope lost.  It will be interesting tonight to hear the tone of the announcers.

The broadcasters are pretty ragged, like most students in those roles, but I was actually taken aback and impressed by how the PBP guy went out of his way last night on a couple of occasions to note when Hope got a favorable call (such as the Muchmore foul on Cody Stuive's attempted dunk, which was actually a totally clean block), and he really praised Hanover forward Wes McKinney's remarkable stretch of drives to the basket and successful layups in the waning minutes of the game.

Hmm, interesting. I have no idea how it leaked out. As you can see, it was posted on the NPU athletics page this afternoon.

Simple... schools are given the head's up, but told they are to wait until the NABC makes the announcement as this weekend's games have a bit of an affect.

As someone who is preparing the game program for this game, I can say without hesitation that he is a replacement for someone. (Besides the obvious fact that he wouldn't have been in our voting if he were one of the top two in the region and already invited to the game.)

Congratulations to Juwan Henry, who was a unanimous selection to the Reese's NABC All-Star game. The game will take place a week from Saturday in Salem, prior to the national championship game.

I'm also curious to the wording "unanimous selection" whereas he seems to be a replacement due to the fact he was not one of the first two out of the central as well as the fact that he did not get all of the votes on the d3hoops.com poll.

Maybe as the "at-large" selection, in order to replace someone still playing, he was a unanimous selection? If anyone can give more info here that knows more, I would love to hear it.

That's why I speculated that he might be a replacement for some player who couldn't go or declined to go to Salem when I texted North Park SID Kevin Shepke yesterday.

Regardless of whether he's a sub or not, and regardless of the fact that I'm biased, I maintain that Juwan clearly deserves to be in that game. It's not as though D3 is loaded to the gunwales with 2,000-point scorers this season, and he is a three-time All-CCIW first-teamer and an incumbent d3hoops.com All-American.

Yes he is very deserving to go to this game. I am not taking anything away from that. I would like to see Sabin, Henry and Harvey out of the central region. It also looks like the rosters are 10 players for each team, compared to the 9 of last year.

There are four 2,000 point scorers this year, plus Brian Sortino who came up 9 points short.  I'm not sure if Khory Moore will make the All-Star game or not, though. I'm pretty sure Sabin was at least invited and Flannery should be in Salem one way or another.

I can't imagine either Sortino or Moore not getting invited, and I sure hope that the Oswego State or Virginia Wesleyan people would be up in arms if one or the other was denied the chance to play in the All-Star game.

Agreed that all of those guys should be in Salem. My prelim list for assembling content did not include any New England players, which I'm sure is because the top candidates are still alive in the tournament.

Considering the NABC foots the bill(s) for this (with help from Hershey/Reece's)... adding two players is somewhat significant.

Sam Borst-Smith, if they lose tonight, would be ahead of Sortino and there's also Keegan Ryan to consider and Aldin Medujanin.  East has a lot of good seniors this year.

In the south you've got Zach Burnett, who won the ODAC POY over Moore, plus Nathaniel Jack.  It seems like they stick with conference POY's at least as a starting point.  Two guys from a region is a tough order.

I am glad to see they expanded to 20; I presume Henry was one of the coachs' vote invitees.

Halftime in Holland: Augie 40, Hanover 33.  Jacob Johnston has 9, Nolan Ebel and Chrishawn (Agent) Orange each have 8.

I love how the yellow-clad Augie students keep chanting, "Jenny Craig! Jenny Craig!" or "East a salad! Eat a salad!" every time that Corey Muchmore goes to the FT line, when it's obvious that most of those guys have never missed a meal themselves.
