Benning looked awfully good coming off the bench.  Do we know if Wofford will be given a chance to come back?

Quote from: AndOne on March 22, 2017, 06:08:13 PMOver the course of their search, MU narrowed the field of applicants to two finalists, the other being long time Augie assistant Tom Jessee.

I've heard that Jessee had withdrawn his name.

Perhaps. But, if so, it was late in the game

A great move by Coach Fahey . . . and good for Illinois too.  Let's hope she and the new men's head coach can be successful and bring Illini basketball back to prominence.  Probably a several year process . . .

Wish Mark Scherer the best.  He put Elmhurst on the map.  Our 2001 squad will forever be enshrined at Elmhurst College.   He will be a positive addition for Millikin.

For the record, it's now official: Chamar Flanigan, a 6'4 forward from Glenbard North, has deposited at NPU.

Porta SF, Max Mueller, has committed to Illinois Wesleyan. He ran with the Illinois Irish for the AAU season.

Any info on the 2 NPU commits?

Chamar must read these boards prompting his deposit :)

Granted a canned highlight film,  this kid can score from all over the court.  Some deep threes without having to be totally squared up, decent mid-range and can mix it up in the paint.  He will be interesting to watch as he gain strength, weight and develops.

Muller seems to be a significant recruit for IWU.  He is a 6-5, extremely skilled wing player - can handle the ball, shoot it, and post up.  He was recruited heavily at the small college level and, I believe, had an offer from D2 Quincy.  I've heard his name since the late-summer.

Higgs is Farmington's all-time leading scorer.  He could help at the 1 or the 2 down the road.  From what I've heard, a really impressive, mature kid who is a great leader.

IWU recruits I'm aware of:
  * Charlie Bair, 6-6 F/C, Glenbard South H.S.
  * Eric Higgs, 6-0 PG/SG, Farmington H.S.
  * Max Muller, 6-5 G/F, Porta H.S. (Petersburg, IL)

Thanks for the recruiting information.

Muller is a quality get.  Legit catch and shoot and able to put the ball on the floor.  Perfect fit for IWU system.

Wolfe had a D2 offer from Cedarville and seems like a nice addition for the Titans.  Matt Nadelhoffer told me a few weeks back he saw Wolfe play over 30 times.

Brice Robinson ‏@Brice9R
Proud to say I will carry on the tradition of Oswego High School #42s next year at Illinois Wesleyan University! 🏀

Ki
Ron Rose and the Titans have landed Brice Robinson, a 6-7 forward from Oswego H.S..  Robinson averaged 15.9 points and 7.6 rebounds as a senior and was named Beacon-News area Player of the Year.  He was offered a scholarship by NCAA D2 UW-Parkside and was recruited heavily at the small college level.

I believe this is a significant addition for the Titans.

TQ,

I think it might be a good idea for you to come up with a new adjective to describe your IWU recruits.
"Significant" seems to be a bit of a jinx. 😔

One of last year's "significant" recruits, Brice Robinson, who averaged 15.9 PPG and 7.6 RPG as a HS senior, played a grand total of 14 minutes all year, and another, Daniel Hoekstra, the leading scorer in the history of his HS, didn't even make the IWU varsity team!
Perhaps "nice," "good," or even "desired" would suffice until such time as the recruit actually makes the varsity and becomes a significant contributor, or at least until he plays significant minutes. :)
