Mr. Ypsi

sac, you're a trouble-maker! ;D

Maybe Greg is right, after all, describing NPU's recruit as 'insignificant' (hope he ran that by the recruit)! ;)

Naperville Central's Nick Kramer announced just a few minutes ago that he will be taking his talents all of a mile to North Central. He's 6'6", so I would figure he'll get minutes at the 3.

As to whether he's a "significant" recruit, well, I'll let AndOne, who probably has more knowledge on the kid than I do, answer those questions.  ;)

From a statistical standpoint, Nick Kramer averaged 10.4 PPG and 4.4 RPG.
He finished 9th in the Class 4A State 3 point shooting contest at the State Finals.
At 6'6" it is anticipated that he may be able to plug in at either forward spot.
Beyond his statistics, Nick plays a strong mental game, not forcing things and making few errors. This, in large part, is due to the fact that he grew up around the game.
He is the son of Naperville Central Head Coach Pete Kramer.

I've seen Nick play several times over the past couple of seasons.  He will have to get much stronger and develop the "physical" side of his game to make an impact at either forward spot.  In high school, he was a bigger guy that really seemed to want to stay on the perimeter.  Agree that he is a smart player with a high basketball IQ and he can definitely shoot it from three, but he will really need to hit the weight room to be a contributor at the college level.  That being said, I think that is true of a lot of guys coming out of high school.

It's virtually impossible to find a kid coming out of high school that doesn't need to get stronger in order to be a noteworthy player at the next level. Unless otherwise noted, it's honestly a waste of time to say a kid needs to get stronger as that necessity applies to 90-95% of kids coming out of HS, and is implied in most cases.  And the 5-10% who are more physically developed/conditioned than the vast majority of incoming recruits still need to spend time in the weight room in order to maintain the advantage that they came in with.

Very surprised to see the addition of Kramer to the CCIW and the NCC program.

Very surprised to see TEN guys 6"6" or taller on the Augie roster this past season.  ::)
