Augustana (8-1) @ UW-Stevens Point (5-2)

Massey sez:

Augustana 71, UWSP 68   AC 58%, UWSP 42%

This is actually a neutral site game... at Justagame fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells.

I don't think the game will be this close. Point has shot the lights out in a few games, but Augie's size and physicality will likely overwhelm them. I think Augie by at least 15.

Augie 74 Stevens Point 58

Probably the pressure of the impending NCAA sanctions.  Or too much water park pregame.

Emory and IWU look very closely matched.

Massey sez  ?

Wish the game wasn't in the middle of the night HK time!  :(

Happy New Year to all, travel well and safe, stay out of the bitter cold in the Upper Midwest.

A truly weird year in Ypsilanti.  The hottest day all year was #1 son's birthday - September 23!  THAT will never happen again in his lifetime. ;)  The coldest day (as usual) had been in January, at a relatively balmy 6 above - until Christmas.  Since then, we have been colder every night, and are supposed to get colder yet for the next week or two.  At least no highs predicted to be below zero!  (But also none predicted to hit even freezing as far out as the forecast goes.)

I am looking forward to the IWU game at Emory.

The Eagles have lost two games they should have won, but did so without PG Whit Rapp who would probably be leading the league in assists.  He is back, apparently, and will probably start ahead of Romin Williams.

Watch for freshman Matt Davet who may be the next big Emory power forward.

Emory looks strong and quite balanced.  Hope Massey is right.

Knoblach again gets the start over Coleman, according to Pgraph article and interview with Coach Rose.  I wouldn't be too surprised to see Danny Baker get more minutes over Curry, as well.  He's the kind of rugged, tough rebounder that IWU needs, to support Beasley and O'Neill.  Jason Gregoire has been a very pleasant surprise, adding more from the three-point line.  Need the best of Brady Rose and Colin Bonnett for these two games on the road.

Birmingham Southern lost to Emory earlier, but played them pretty tough.

Go TITANS -- we need both of these games in ATL.  10-2 going into the rest of the CCIW schedule would be nice.  Build the resume for March.

From just a quick glance at the season's stats it looks that he's being pretty productive offensively.  Good luck to him.

Brady Rose is a Senior, correct?

This is his 4th year of school and he is listed as a senior. I believe he is only a junior eligibility wise due to his being injured a season or two ago before one third of that season had been completed, and being unable to return that same season. However, it is also my impression that if a medical redshirt season is approved, that additional season has to be played at the same school. But, since Rose will almost certainly have enough credits and be graduating in 2018, and IWU does not offer graduate programs, at least not in his field of study, this, therefore, will be his final season. Accordingly, he is therefore listed as a senior on the team roster.
I'm sure other posters will correct me if I'm wrong.  ;)

Congratulations to Wheaton's own Coach Schauer on being named the D3 National Coach of the Week. His squad picked up two large wins in the Pacific Northwest against then 7th ranked Whitworth and unranked but tough George Fox. The Thunder sit at 8-3 (2-1) going into resumption of CCIW play next week against Carroll at home, and most students will be back on campus for next Saturday's home men's and women's twin-bill against North Park. I'm excited to see how the Thunder use the momentum they gained from Christmas break going into the rest of the conference season, and love to see my Thunder gaining national attention once again that they used to be in year in-year out.
