Mr. Mo

Illegitimate question:  why would you feel the need to label your own question?

Titan Q

#47266
IWU 82
Carroll 70

http://gopios.com/boxscore.aspx?id=10358&path=

* Brady Rose: 27 pts, 2 reb, 4 assists
* Jason Gregoire: 14 pts, 8 reb, 3 assists
* Zach Knobloch: 13 pts
* Alex O'Neill: 11 pts, 4 reb

* T. Zaeske: 15 pts
* T. Ingebrightsen: 12 pts, 3 reb
* J. Heesch: 10 pts, 7 reb, 7 assists

Another big game for Brady Rose, and some terrific contributions by Jason Gregoire, Alex O'Neill, and Miles Curry.  O'Neill's offensive progress is a big factor for IWU.

The Titans improve to 14-3 overall and 7-1 in the CCIW...solo 1st at the turn.

Yes, probably Francis at this point.  Rose and Sorenson right up there.  When he's on fire, Knobloch is fun to watch -- the game earlier in the year when he made 10 treys.  :)

Yes, agree with Q.  O'Neill is improving.  This was probably Jason Gregoire's best game, clearly feeling more comfortable, hitting two huge 3s in the last 1-2 minutes.

Again, get to 78, win the game.  Titans winning on the road, 82-70 over Carroll, who gave the TITANS a great game, shooting the three ball very well.

Rose 27
Gregoire 14 and 8
Knobloch 13
O'Neill 11 and 4
Bonnett 8

Titans shooting 54%, 41% from the arc.  IWU winning the rebounding battle, 29-24.

For CC:
Zaeske 15
Ingebrightsen 12
Heesch 10

The Pios have a good team.

IWU to 14-3, leading the CCIW through the first round, 7-1.

Wow, Elmhurst taking it to NCC in the second half, up big with only a few seconds to go.  Good for EC and John Baines!  :)

Checked in on the NCC/Elmhurst game to see how it was going, tuning in just in time to see Elmhurst adding their exclamation point with a thunderous dunk in the final minute. I wish I watched more of this game. Very big win for Elmhurst. Congrats to the Bluejays!

It seems that Elmhurst is a completely different team on their home hardwood. Tough matchup for every opponent traveling into the bird nest.

EC 91, NCC 77

Elmhurst finished 13/27 from beyond the arc. I didn't watch any of the game, but from the team's unofficial Twitter account the Jays hit something like eight straight contested threes to pull away.

I wasn't crazy about back to back Saturdays against Elmhurst when the schedule first came out. Now? I'm sure they're circling this game (as long as they don't overlook Millikin Wednesday).

I think Titan fans will see steady improvement from Gregoire.  In his post game interview today, Gregoire said he had mono early this school year, had to go home, was in the hospital and lost 25 pounds.
Coach Rose let him miss the first week or so of practice just to catch up on class work.  He said he has put the weight back on but still is not up to full strength.  He certainly played well today, was elevating on his shots and played with a lot of energy.  Titans are going to need down the stretch.

Now a much bigger game IWU @EC coming up.  EC surely played well in the second half vs. NCC.  A result I didn't expect.

Gregoire and O'Neill improving, getting more comfortable and strong in their roles, their part in the IWU offense.  Very glad to hear Gregoire is feeling almost back to full strength after the illness.  Knobloch another good contribution tonight . . .and Curry too.  The TITANS are going to need / use this depth down the stretch.

Augustana 74
North Park 60

Jack Gurvey: 14 pts
Matt Szuba: 13 pts
Veggie Tangen: 10 pts
Colin Lake: 6 rebs
Billy Kirby: 3 stls

Chrishawn Orange: 20 pts, 7 rebs, 4:1 a:to
Nolan Ebel: 15 pts, 11:2 a:to
Dylan Sortillo: 11 pts, 5:1 a:to
Micah Martin: 11 pts, 8 rebs

It was a two-point game with five minutes left, but Augie found another gear and closed out the game with a 12-point run.

The amazing thing is that NPU was right there that late in the game in spite of the fact that Lake and Kirby had only twelve points between them. This is the first time this season that NPU has overcome its chronic problem of not getting secondary scoring support. Alas, it wasn't enough to finish off what would've been the upset of the year.

Carthage and Millikin going to OT in Decatur -- tied up at 75.

iwu70

Augie, lucky to get out of town.  Any road win in CCIW is a good win.

Lucky?   Come on really?  Augustana does what they do.
