Congrats to AC, IWU and NCC on the tournament bids.  Very pleased to see CCIW getting three entrants, bids.  Good luck to all three teams -- let's make some noise for the CCIW.

Congrats to Coach Rose and all the Titans.  Glad to see the seniors get to play another day . . . and perhaps a chance for Brady Rose to have some redemption.   No easy games now, just like in the CCIW.  A new season . . .

Thanks, Q, for all the good work on numbers crunching, on Pool C.  Great work.

Go TITANS -- time to play well.

Over/Under: Brett Benning Points Friday vs Greenville = 28.5

Gut feeling without looking at any Greenville box scores? I'll grab the over.

Yes, but what's the total points???   how about 250?     ::) ::)
Augustana might have the opportunity to break IWU single game NCAA tournament record of 132 points scored March 1,2001 against Grinnell (91 points).  Without looking it up, I think that NCAA tournament record still stands.
IWU also set its single game free throws made record in the Grinnell game - 40.  IWU played everybody but the water boy and trainers in that game.

Interestingly, IWU non-NCAA tournament single game record was against Greenville which was also Greenville's first system game.  Final Score IWU 150 Greenville 117 on November 17, 2015.

NCC assistant coach Steve Schweer is one of three finalists for the UW-LaCrosse head coaching job. I'd be very surprised if UWL's current interim head coach, Kent Dernbach (another one of the three finalists) doesn't get the job, but it's nice to see Steve listed among the finalists. He'll have his own program before very long, if not at UWL then somewhere else.

I am not thrilled the finalists where listed because I think it only hurts Steve... because I think this is just a procedural thing. Maybe I think of this differently, but in a situation like this... I wouldn't be advertising who the finalists are for a job I think we all know is going to Kent. If Kent doesn't get it, that is a completely different story.

It's great to see the selection committee recognize the excellence of the.CCIW. I still recall the excellent Drew Carstens teams at Augie that be very got a chance to play in our version of the Big Dance! Because only one conference team was selected. I  dare say Wheaton is better than at least a third of the other teams in the tourney. Let's hope we see a rematch between Augie and IWU on the way to the FF. NCC too has a fair shot at getting through the first weekend.

Good luck to all our teams.

I suspect that there is a state law in Wisconsin that mandates the U of W System having to reveal finalists for an open job position, or something to that effect.

That might be true actually. When UW-LaCrosse was trying to fill its vacant women't head coach position, former NCC assistant and current Wheaton assistant Doug Porter was announced as one of the five finalists.

WUPHF

Maybe this bit has run its course, but these rosters will never mean as much to me without the USee treatment.

Was just thinking about that too...wondering what day we get that.
