Boy, do we need the basketball season to start.

Chuck, do any other CCIW schools even have an opera singer?   :)

I have no freakin' clue!  Does any other CCIW school even have a music school?  If so, they've probably got at least one opera singer somewhere!

And amen to starting the bball season.  Except that will mean it is mid-November, which to me is basically winter. :(  (I don't get to just jet off to balmy Hong Kong!)

But before then, let's finish the fball season on a high note!  IWU 28, NCC 21.

Hardly. 😟

Nobody ever forgets that.

LOL!

Mark, your chance to redeem yourself is if you can find an opera singer to laud from some other CCIW school! ;D

Perhaps Eastman or the Academy of Vocal Arts would have interest in joining the CCIW as affiliate members so we have enough schools to merit a Pool 'A' berth in the opera tourney.  ::)

And more LOL!

My cousin graduated from IWU ... she was heavily involved in the drama program there ... did a few musicals ... wouldn't that lead one to think there is at least a music program at IWU? :)

Dave, IWU has an EXCELLENT music school.  I nearly married an IWU music major.  After 41 years, Mrs. Y (I hope!) and I are both glad I didn't. ;D

Wheaton has an entire conservatory of music: https://www.wheaton.edu/wheaton-college-conservatory-of-music/

Wheaton College has two applications for prospects students.  One for the college of arts and sciences and one for the conservatory of music.  Students cannot apply to both.

The conservatory is fairly large.   The problem for sports is the students of the conservatory tend to be "above" playing in a pep band for football or basketball.   You'd think with this number of music students Wheaton would have the best pep bands in the conference.  Not even close.

But the pressing issue is does Wheaton have any famous opera singers?

Hey, for preserving Mark's reputation, I'd even take a third alto from the Manito opera company!  (Greg oughta be satisfied if Mark can tout a corn-fed Manito alto! ;))

Definitely a fair assumption! Wheaton hasn't had a pep band for Hoops or Football for at least a few years (4-5). Possibly even more at this point.

It's only 105!

Thanks Pat!  I thought it was 300, but of course, 95 plus whatever I said does not equal 300, so...

Yo... GREG SAGER... your boys have 26 games on their schedule.... both on the North Park site and on the D3hoops schedules... better tell the office to designate the Western Illinois game as an exhibition... ;) ;) ;)
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Thanks, Q, for some solid basketball information -- re:  IWU @UIC.

And, if you will forgive me for pointing this out, IWU has one of the best pep bands anywhere in the country.  Somehow related to our Music School and the fact that many non-music majors still pursue their musical talents and their TITAN sports loyalties.  I'm sure this said Pep Band will be there Saturday vs. NCC for all to hear, lending to the supportive atmosphere for the big "all the marbles" game.

Go TITANS -- in volleyball, basketball and football -- all weekend.  A great weekend to be a TITAN!

IWU plays UIC tonight in Chicago, 7 p.m.  U of I tomorrow night in Champaign/Urbana, also 7 p.m.   Exhibitions.  We'll see more clearly where the first unit is and how the rotation might go.

WOW - talk about a flashback to a different universe!  Mrs. Y was watching a St. Elsewhere rerun when I happened into the room.  A doctor lit up her cigarette in the patient's hospital room - AND he was on oxygen! :o  It's been at least a couple of decades since I've been to any hospital that allowed smoking anywhere on their entire property, much less inside the building!
