On the contrary, there's nothing the least bit "trap" about playing LeTourneau. Last season the Yellow Jackets went 24-5 and reached the second round of the D3 tourney. The season before that they went 22-6. Nobody in their right mind would take a team lightly that has recent credentials like that.

Greg:

More than fair. I was just saying how it could be very easy to come out flat in a game like this so close to Thanksgiving and on the road. Also worth noting, to prove your point even further, than Wheaton has been in Texas as a team all week (Gunter and Francis are from the area) practicing. They also celebrated the holiday together as a team.

Yeah - if they do come out flat I wouldn't think it would be from taking the game lightly or the holiday etc.  If anything, Francis and Gunter will feel pressure to play well and the whole team will feel the pressure to win for their sakes.  Trying too hard early in the game might be a factor.  4-0 start is nice but all were at home.  Getting a W in their first road game and before this next stretch of tough games would be nice.

The Titans took care of business in St. Louis today to move to 6-0.  I thought the keys for IWU were size and balance.  The Titans looked enormous on the floor today vs the much smaller Gorloks and really physically dominated the game most of the way.  And IWU was incredibly balanced - 7 players with 8 or more points.  The Titans had 25 assists on 31 FG which is a pretty crazy stat.  IWU's 25 assist total today was the 9th most in a single game in school history.

This is a very talented and deep IWU team.  IWU is led by 4 really good upperclass starters (Rose, Bonnett, Gregoire, O'Neill) but that young group is impressive - Bair, Wallen, Wolfe, Lambesis, Leritz.  And senior post Danny Baker always comes in and does good things.

The Titans are fun to watch.  The play hard and share the ball really well.

IWU assists in last 3 games:

vs Wash U: 24
vs Westminster: 23
vs Webster: 25

That's pretty amazing.

Augie 78 Rockford 64. Much closer than the final score.  A really lack luster performance by the  Vikings.

Agree.  Up by nineteen at half, really should have put Rockford away.

On a good note, monster game from Pierson Wofford.  21 offensive rebounds for Augie, just had trouble puttin em back.

Wofford.  25 pts. 15 Reb. (6 off)
Benning. 19 pts.  6 Reb.
Ebel.      13 pts.  5. Reb. 3 A
Martin.    4  pts.  7 Reb.
Ferguson 7. Pts.  7 Reb.

I don't think so, but given that in the past their play by play guy has been unprepared (constant mispronunciation of visiting player names), maybe this isn't a bad thing.

North Central beat Alma this afternoon in the airplane hangar, 87-67. I'm sure that Mark will chime in with the details at some point.

In a bit of a surprise, Elmhurst edged Buena Vista, 92-87, out in The Middle of Nowhere, Iowa. Jake Rhode led five 'jays in double figures as he notched 19 points, joined by Jeremy Ireland with 18 and 10, Ryan Patton with 16, Jay Militello with 13 off the bench, and Derek Dotlich with a dozen, as Pavlos Marakis pulled down 13 boards.

Bosko Djurickovic really seems to have Todd Kelly's number, as Carthage nipped Ilinois Tech yet again, 70-68, north of the Cheddar Curtain. The Scarlet Hawks blew two layups in the final minute that would've tied the game. Kienen Baltimore had the best game yet of his career, scoring 32 while playing a phenomenal 8:2 floor game. Jordan Kedrowski scored a dozen, while Preston Laketa contributed six rebounds and three steals.

+1 Now the broadcast is focused on the score board and completely frozen.

I guess I'll have to watch follow along with the live stats.

The good ol' boy who is calling the Wheaton @ LeTourneau game is a total trip. Tonewise, when a trey is hit he goes from comatose to Tony the Tiger in a nanosecond.

I was thinking the exact same thing other than the Tony the Tiger reference. Nice!

He's calling this game like a Sunday stroll, and it's very entertaining. I love the fact that pronouncing the name "Eichelberger", which you wouldn't think would faze anybody, represents some sort of insurmountable obstacle in his mind. He's mentioned a couple of times now that he's going to try his best to pronounce it correctly.

A few minutes ago, when Kobe Eichelberger was at the FT line, the announcer said, in that mellifluous East Texas drawl, "Ah-chel-burr-gurr. That's his name. Heh, heh, heh." Left me grinning from ear to ear.
