But there are players who appear in even more than six top 10 categories.

For what it is worth, Francis also leads in minutes played per game.

As for the other categories, in the calculus, we could have Wheaton cash in a few of those 10 extra points per game and buy Francis in to Top 10 of blocks per game (one block per game would get him in at No. 6) and maybe another category or two and still be the leading scorer.  The only thing that could raise his profile for me is three-point field goal percentage.

Incidentally, Carroll is fourth in terms of attendance but that is a category is definitely one to save for the end of the season.

I wonder what the Rowdies will have on their cheat sheets this year...

That still makes me laugh ... not so much Sorenson's tweet in response, but the mere fact that the Wheaton student section produced a cheat sheet for a basketball game, complete with a logo for their nickname. That's worthy of a first-ballot induction into the Hall of Lame.

I had to look up the 54-point night for Jordan Lyons from Furman to try to make a comparison. Lyons made his 54 on 15-34 shooting on three-point attempts, tying the NCAA record for made threes and setting a new NCAA record for three-point attempts.

Francis has had those kind of nights where it feels like he puts up that many shots but his efficiency tonight was incredible. He scored 24 straight points for Wheaton and his 34 points in the first half was one more than the Pioneers scored as a team through 20 minutes. The reactions from the UWP coaching staff as Francis hit shot after shot was fun to watch in the first half. They seemed to pass through all the stages of grief in just 20 minutes.

Greg I'm glad you mentioned the audio being shut off in the second half because I had to refresh my feed at halftime and just assumed that it was an issue on my end. Sounds like the Pioneer fans just needed to take their 'L' for the night and not continue to feed the beast as Francis was lighting them up. A lesson that Wheaton's students could've learned from last year's North Central game at King Arena.

All in all a good night for the Thunders and leads to what should be a very fun game at King Arena on Saturday night.

Win or lose, The HALL of LAME members need to come up some better "cheers" than "Hey coach, your bald spot is showing," or some more Christian utterances than those belittling alleged girlfriends of opposing players. Perhaps try something a little more relatable to the game of basketball?

Apparently at the school founded, as the monument on the College's front lawn states, For Christ and his Kingdom, anything goes. This fact is seemingly undeniably evidenced by the notation in the bottom left corner of last year's cheat sheet—-ITS NORTH CENTRAL, ANYTHING GOES. Really? Anything?
Does President Ryken, who the "cheat sheet" is named after, really believe anything does go? ???

I'm the first one to say raucous student cheering sections are great. I think they ADD to the already charged atmosphere of games. The Wheaton students enthusiasm is commendable!  ;D
But when the vast majority of the "cheers" are hurtful insults of a personal nature or when behavior in the stands, if committed on the street would get you arrested for disorderly conduct, then it's time for those supposedly in authority to step in.

Well...compared to how some other millennials and gen z members interact with each other on social media, the lack of severity on that cheat sheet might do more to prove that modesty and restraint are in fact still alive at Wheaton. Also, as demonstrated by the North Central player's Twitter response, many of the players can handle themselves just fine with these matters.

That was the best part.

He could have run to the administration to ask them to handle it.

His response on Twitter was perfect.

Though I'm not wild about Sorenson (he was a monster for NCC), his response was solid!

Still have no idea how the format of the boards work a majority of the time. Apologies!

Duck,

No need to apologize. And, I welcome your opinion. I agree a "rowdy" environment adds to the overall game atmosphere. And I would never even comment as to as tame/lame comments like "coach get off the floor," or "daddy's boy." That's junior high stuff. But I was sitting a few feet from the Wheatie Rowdies last year and there is no way I didn't hear some personally insulting comments about the NCC staff, and about some of the players and/or their families/friends. Also, with leaning out over the railing and screaming in the NCC player's faces, some of the Rowdies seemed truly out of control.
Maybe the intensity is because many of the students are, I believe, members of the WC football team and, because of the fierce football rivalry with NCC, naturally enjoy any opportunity to unload on the Cardinals. Who knows?
But, maybe as both you and voxelmhurst seem to suggest, the distinct possibility exists that the comments hurled at the Cardinals only strengthened their resolve. It certainly did last year.

If you are an 18-22 year old male and part of a fan group, you have to go with "Daddy's boy" every single time.  Its the obvious taunt.  Just as you have to go with "One-man team" even if both let you down in the end.

Your digression on the Rowdies makes little sense compared to other fan bases out there that have shown up drunk to games and say truly offensive things. Is your fixation based on the fact that you expect the Christian college crowd to show up in choir robes and sing Handel's Messiah, and that anything more than that is deemed controversial?

The level of ridiculousness of your question doesn't even merit a reply. But I have a pertinent question for you, blue_jays.
That being, were you at the Wheaton/NCC game last year? If so, you must have had both an 👂🏽 and 👁 infection!

Hey, I just checked our D3Boards Rowdies taunt cheat-sheet and sure enough...by your name, it said has a fixation with Christian-related institutions behaving un-Christian like.

It is cracking me about the conversation about the crowds, especially at "Christian-based institutions" ... I would suggest those who don't like it not show up at Hope or Calvin especially for a Hope-Calvin game. :)

Did I miss an injury update our of Kenosha?

After playing 41 minutes against IWU and posting a double double and 4 blocks, Sean Johnson has averaged just nine minutes per game over the last three, which includes not even making the book in the Beloit game.  Any insights into the disappearing act?

Gregory Sager

Bosko mentioned an injury to Johnson in the gamer for the Red Men's loss to Elmhurst on Saturday. He implied that Johnson had been less than 100% coming into the game, and that during the game Johnson suffered some sort of complication, or a different injury altogether, that incapacitated him for the rest of the contest (and, presumably, for the Beloit game as well).

I remember sitting next to Sager in the bleachers decades ago who "taunted" Calvin players during pre-game warmpus.  He told the Calvin players they were pre-destined to lose the game.  That was a legit comment, and also amusing.  NPC won the game.
