Well, I hope that he gets a discount from having a parent who is employed by IWU. That's an expensive school if what you're taking are meaningless classes that you don't need because you've already fulfilled your graduation requirements.
Ron Rose is an Associate Professor of Physical Education which normally gives you a"discount".  Without getting into specific speculation, there are many ways Rose the Younger could play second semester.  I really, really doubt Brady Rose came back for a partial 5th year.

Great game in CA:

#4 Whitman 105 IWU 103

For IWU:
Rose 25
Bonnett 17
Gregoire 11 and 6
Wallen 12 and 5
Leritz 11 and 5
Wolfe 9 assists -- really helped break the pressure

IWU FTs 9-16.  IWU shoots 61% from the field, 52% from trey, and loses

For WC:

Stewart 29  5-8 from trey
Duckett 17
Hewitt 15
Butler 12 and 11
Osborne 12

As I surmised, WC got to shoot 35 FTs!!  making 29 -- the difference in the game.  They also had 13 steals, most early on.

One of the best D3 games you will see -- two highly talented teams.  Congrats to Whitman -- one basket (and a lot of free throws) better than my Titans tonight.

I thought that Illinois Wesleyan did a great job of keeping its collective wits together, getting back into the game in the first half after taking an early punch in the mouth from the Blues in a classic "Wow, those guys are even faster than they looked on tape!" potential runaway situation. You could tell that the pace throughout was a little faster than the Titans liked or were used to, as they tended to rush their shots when they attacked the basket (except for Brady Rose, who was money driving the lane). The Titans also did a great job of circulating the ball around the perimeter to find the open look; Grant Wolfe was particularly good at making the skip or the semi-skip to find the open man in the halfcourt. But defensively the Greenies simply could not stay in front of the much quicker Blues, and as the second half went on the Titans started playing more and more defense with their hands than with their feet ... hence, the Whitman parade to the foul line.

I thought that the final play that Ron Rose called was fine. The Titans got a really nice baseline look for the perfectly capable Colin Bonnett, and that's all you can ask for as a coach. Bonnett just gaffed it. It happens. And the frenetic chaos after he missed? Well, frenetic chaos is Whitman's bread and butter. I knew once Bonnett's shot failed to go in that it was curtains for IWU.

No, I don't think so. I didn't see any side baskets. And the floor was black -- I mean totally black, except for the lanes, which were painted bright red. And the walls were completely black as well.

Last night North Central played immaculate basketball. Tonight, the Cardinals look as though they had too much of the suspiciously-rubbery shrimp at one of those Vegas all-you-can-eat buffets.

it is the Power Hoops Traing facility Phoeniz, Az

It is over the top. The court colors I believe are Under Amour's official corporate colors.

Ohio Northern eked out a 63-61 win over North Central in Vegas tonight, as Blaise Meredith missed a finger roll in the last couple of seconds that would've sent the game into OT.

Yikes, that Phoenix gym is a great place for a blind person to attend a game.

Mark, I can name a whole bunch of CCIW players from bygone eras who qualified as swingmen.
...
Most athletic, etc...
...

If Dennis Prikkel was still posting here, he could probably name CCIW swingmen that date back to the leather-pads-and-silk-shorts era.

I've never met Dennis Prikkel, but I thought you were going to refer to him as one of these swing men...

From how he's been deceived in the past, I was a bit confused...!

If Joe Hakes was reading this, he'd no doubt post a chin joke right here about Dennis and swingmen.

Greg,

You're referring to fabulously talented professional players. I don't think the same situation has existed in the D3 ranks for anywhere near as long. 🤔

I would offer up Tim McCrary in this conversation.

McCrary had good floor skills, but I don't think that he ever played guard.

He's also a very recent player, as far as this conversation goes.

Don't want to disapoint you, Greg. Prikkel's only "swing ability" would be from his multitudinous chins.

Too easy.

Sure, if Wes Craven is the middle school's principal. ;)

Wheaton grad Wes Craven.  My dad taught his required Bible class there.  He often wondered if he was not quite the right influence on young Wes.

I was waiting for someone to mention the fact that the legendary horror-film director was also the most famous atheist alumnus of Wheaton College.

Nice balance for Elmhurst tonight, vox. Jeremy Ireland had 18 and 8, Jay Militello had 15, Jake Rhode had 11 plus three steals, and Nick Perry added 10 to a solid 4:1 floor game, with three blocks thrown in for good measure.

That was Marietta's first loss of the season after ten wins.

I think Nick Perry is looking more and more like a full-time starter for Elmhurst. He's one of those players, like Rhode, who is able to do a little bit (or more) of everything in order to help his team win.

EC will play UW-LaCrosse later today. Marietta will play Lake Forest.
