Sadly, the plumber who installed it was with the previous homeowner ... so I really don't know who exactly to blame. When the second one burst (or when I discovered it) ... my wife knew there was a problem because I was suddenly silent. I was fuming inside and didn't know how I was going to handle my anger. :)

The first time, I actually had the plumber to fix it, try and blame me and a splitter we put on the bib. He didn't listen to a word I said.

BTW - our second bib broke, apparently, during a mild winter was well. Insane. I still have at least one of them to remind me of stupid mistakes.

Anyway... I am sorry for your issue. I'd suggest you put more insulation behind the dishwasher - but that may cause bigger problems if it were to ever happen again!

Good luck, sir. I hope your insurance company was like mine and handled things swiftly and well.

Frustrating day today.  I started bowling with a 174, which was 19 pins higher than last week when I finished with a 614 series (3rd game was a 252, which was my first time EVER breaking the 250 barrier), but it was sharply downhill from there: 150, then 116).  Then went to the grocery store to get stuff for our party this Saturday, not yet knowing that it ain't gonna happen!

I got home to discover my wife had faced a flood from the dishwasher (not even running) when the cheap-sh!t plastic solenoid valve shattered in the cold and the intake ran like gangbusters. (This had already happened last winter during an extreme cold spell, so the valve that shattered was less than a year old - Maytag parts are garbage.)  The damage was enough that we filed an insurance claim, and now have to deal with dampness-mitigation (the bank of dehumidifiers sounds like a 747 next door from everywhere in the house) - 3 to 5 days - followed by who knows how much reconstruction from the company who rebuild after the damage.  Virtually no kitchen for AT LEAST a week, probably 2.

Location of the party had already been moved to two of the guests for a different reason, but we were still the 'hosts' in terms of main dish.  Now have to decide what that will be.  It ain't likely to be my 'world-famous' lasagna!

Congratulations to Illinois Wesleyan

Sorry about that dishwasher, Ypsi. 🙁

Sorry Ypsi.  Water damage no fun at all.

Hope it all comes right soon.

Massey sez:

Augustana 82, Elmhurst 68 (AC 91%, EC 9%)—-> Pretty much a given.

Carroll 71, North Park 63 (CU 78%, NPU 22%)—-> Based on their first meeting at Carroll, this looks right on the surface. But, having seen both teams play, I have to say that first meeting result is surprising to me. Based on what I've seen, NPU looks like a far more dangerous threat. Maybe CU just has NPU's number. Will the eastern Vikings get any degree of boost by playing in the Crackerbox?

Wheaton 82, Illinois Wesleyan 81 (WC  52%, IWU 48%)—-> While the barn isn't fully engulfed yet 🔥, smoke is already beginning to filter up from beneath the hardwood.
How big will the gap be between the the conference MOP and Wheaton's 2nd high scorer? Will the difference be a Spencer Peterson 3? What will be Francis' A:TO ratio be? Will IWU continue to be over reliant on Brady Rose?
Will Mike Schauer spend more time near the water bottles or the scorer's table? Will he or Ron Rose push the most right buttons?
And, about that smoke. Maybe someone ought to put in a call to the Wheaton Fire Dept now 🚒. AND fax them a copy of the Wheaton campus map, making sure to highlight the location of King Arena! 🚑

North Central 72, Millikin 64 (NCC 78%, MU 22%)—-> The birds should have a happy flight home if they REBOUND, and win the TO battle.

Their performance to date would not indicate it. Only one of NPU's four wins has come at home. And it's not as though the atmosphere in the crackerbox has been inspiring this season in terms of either crowd size or crowd noise.

Like they say, though, every game starts off 0-0. Here's hoping that the Vikings start a home winning streak tonight.

Another poor shooting night dooms the Titans tonight, esp. from 3.  Rough season in the CCIW.  Francis gets 45 or more . . .  a scoring machine.

Carroll 66
North Park 61

Toby Marek: 18 pts
Matt Szuba: 11 pts, 3 blks

Kale Maupin: 12 pts, 9 rebs
Tyler Ingebrightsen: 12 pts, 6 rebs
Ryan Clarey: 11 pts, 6 rebs, 7:2 a:to

It was a close game most of the way, but NPU had a stretch of six minutes or so deep in the second half in which it proved totally unable to defend the screen roll. That enabled the Pios to extend to an eleven-point lead, and, although the Vikings got to within a bucket in the final minute, they were unable to climb back out of the hole they had dug themselves.

North Central sends the game at Millikin to OT on a 3 pointer by Aaron Jones with 1.8 seconds left, and wins the game 93-92 on a Mike Pollack 3 pointer as the buzzer ends the OT!

Elmhurst 73

Incredibly tough loss for the Jays. They had Augustana on the ropes but couldn't get the knockout punch  I'm running a high fever so that's about all the commentary I can give.

Another tough one for IWU.  It's been a very disappointing season.

Live stats shows IWU got 50 rebounds to Wheaton's 28, and that 23 were offensive. Is that right?  ???

IWU was 7-34 from 3 tonight...was just a bizarre shooting night for the Titans.

We were watching this one at the table. Go figure, Millikin's live stream froze right before Pollack's dagger.  >:(
