Honestly, fans are a distant thought for administrators. They will play in empty gyms if necessary.

Again... the games are important and I promise you, there will be needs for those games. Looking at Thursday's forecast, the evening will be the warmest time of the day ... snow is about the one thing to worry about.

The predicted temps for the currently scheduled 7:00 game in Naperville on Thurs are snow showers and an actual temp of -1 with a wind chill of -12.

Right now its-14 with a -41 wind chill, heading toward a bottoming out of the big chill at 8:00 AM when its supposed to be -23 actual, and -49 wind chill. Heck, Thurs night will feel like summer. 🏖 😏

If the games aren't played Thurs night, when are they going to play them? Most of the teams have 5 games left, and some have 6. The conference tournament is scheduled to begin on Feb 19th. We're kind of running out of days as far as the ability to do much more postponing/rescheduling of games goes. 🗓

Again, we all knew this was coming and it was just a matter of how ridiculous the temps were going to get. A little foresight and games could've been moved up to Tuesday and been just fine. Ultimately, tomorrow will be cold but it will at least be out of the 'historic' range of cold by the time travel and games roll around tomorrow night.

So North Central cancelled classes for tomorrow, but the game against Augie is reconfirmed for a 7pm tip tomorrow night.

Maybe the cold will impact when the jacket comes off...

MIAA just moved tonight’s games again. Originally scheduled for tonight, then postponed to Thursday night, now scheduled for Monday. A little easier to do with an 8 team league (since every team has the same intervals between games ).

Decisions are being made on a sport-by-sport, school-by-school basis at the moment, aside from the two basketball sports. North Park and Aquinas have canceled their men's volleyball match scheduled for this evening, which I think is sensible; Aquinas is located in Grand Rapids, and lengthy travel should be discouraged in this weather whenever possible. Given that it's not only non-conference but an NCAA/NAIA crossover, there's no real urgency to play the match. (I'm a bit disappointed in the cancellation, since Aquinas is 9-0 and ranked in the top ten in NAIA, but it's not as though I'm howling in anger over this match not being played.) There's one CCIW wrestling meet taking place today; it's MSOE @ Concordia (WI), which is downtown Milwaukee to the Milwuakee suburbs and thus hardly a long trip. I don't know if any scheduled CCIW wrestling meets got moved around this week, since that's a sport I don't follow. I do know enough about CCIW swimming & diving to know that it's almost entirely a weekend sport on both the men's side and the women's side.

Nevertheless, the Carroll @ NPU women's basketball game remains scheduled for 4:30 this afternoon. It hasn't been moved back to the later hour subsequent to the volleyball cancallation because, I'm guessing, Carroll has already booked its charter for an early afternoon departure time from Waukesha. I'm somewhat surprised that Elmhurst and Augustana moved up their women's game from 7 pm to 5:30 this afternoon, for similar reasons. The other two women's games, and all four men's games, in the CCIW will tip off as originally re-scheduled at 7 pm.

Wow. All four games are in crunch time, and they all look like they could go right down to the wire.

... and we can stow the undefeated-in-conference claptrap for another year.

It looked like the Titans were going to blow this one wide open when they went up by 15 with about 10 to go, but the Big Blue refused to fold.  They got as close a four with a couple of minutes left, when IWU finally put it away (something that has been rather rare at Shirk this season).  Brady Rose had 27.  The zebras were very busy with their whistles tonight; I think 6 or 7 guys finished the game with 4 fouls, though nobody ultimately fouled out.
