Actually, I misspoke. I mixed him up with Nolan Ebel, who's never won the award. Rose won it three times last season.

Aston Francis ends his career with 16 of 'em -- three as a sophomore, four as a junior, and nine this season.

When is the last time an outright CCIW champion didn't have a single player of the week award winner?  The combination of team ball and depth where no Augie starter averaged more than 30 minutes a game, and only 6 different players winning the award had to play had to play a role. Not to mention having to compete against a top candidate for national player of the year every week.

In 2015-16 Augustana won the league outright and didn't win a single POTW award. You've basically answered the question as to why, although there was not one single player, a la Aston Francis, who dominated the POTW award that season.

I admit I was kind of lazy

Congrats, Yogao. You're one of a number of posters who have Ypsi'ed me. ;)

Actually, it is a very high accolade! ;D  It means you are clever enough to get someone else to do research for you!

And now, Yogao, you know why one of our regular posters has a name that has turned into a verb. ;)

Not much more to say about the omission of Baltimore that Greg and Mwunder didn't already comment on...a shame for such a consistent player throughout the year.  Would love to see how the process worked when it came time to vote for Baltimore (who didn't vote for him).

I too was about to post registering my outrage about Baltimore, but I'm glad to see others have already beat me there.  How he cannot be 1st team is just beyond me.  Bizarre.

Get to 78, win the game.  IWU 82 CC 73

IWU:
Rose 24
Wallen 17 and 8
Bonnett 16
Gregoire 12
O'Neil 8 -- and an outstanding defensive effort

Last home game at The Shirk for Rose, Bonnett, Baker, and Gregoire.  Great job gentlemen.

FTs 16-19

CC:
Williams 19
Clarey 9

Titans move to 18-8 on the year.

Moving Wallen into the starting role is paying off -- better production for the IWU bigs -- a good combo now with Wallen-Baker, then Bair-O'Neil off the bench.  We'll see against the Augie bigs!

On to Rock Island and the biggest challenge of the year, vs. #1 seed Augie.

Gutty win for the Thunder tonight.

Dotlich was on another level in the first half going 6-8 from 3 going for 20 before the intermission for the Blue Jays, but Wheaton amped up the defensive intensity in the second half and kept him in check.

Incredibly balanced scoring effort for the Thunder led by Francis with 32. Aston had help tonight joined in double figures by Luke Anthony with 14, Jay Spencer with 10, and Spencer Peterson with 10. Aston got his, but the X-factor tonight was without a doubt Luke Anthony who made several big shots in key moments and also played solid defense and rebounded well in the second half. Cruikshank also played impactful minutes stepping in for Luke Peters who was bitten by the foul trouble bug.

Dotlich paced the Blue Jays with 29 followed by Rhode with 21 and Ireland with 11. Elmhurst played about as close to a perfect half in the first half, but was put on their heels almost immediately starting the second stanza.

Congratulations to Elmhurst on a great season. On to the semis with Wheaton v. NCC 3 on Friday in Rock Island

Looking for verification: the Wheaton vs NCC game on Friday will be played at NCC, correct? Or is the entire semi-finals hosted by Augie?
