Thanks GoPerry. There is no denying that becoming a grandpa is an instant natural high.  ;D

Actually, class of 2042 (birthday after Sept 1 ;) ). And while grandpa of course feels whatever school Scarlett attends will be lucky to have her, the early leader would seem to be a certain school in South DuPage given her mom is a NCC grad.  :) 🎓

Over on the CCIW football board, they've already got Mark's granddaughter attending Illinois Wesleyan to play women's basketball.

Meanwhile, his alma mater must be wondering, "Hey, why is Nebraska Wesleyan being left out of the discussion?"

Scarlett Anderson for President!
LOL!
Unless the political atmosphere is dramatically changed by that era, I would encourage exploring a different avenue for her life's work. 🤔

I'd certainly encourage her to look in that direction as well, but have faith that she has the intelligence to make the best decision for herself.
That's not to say that if she becomes an athlete as well as a student, and is deciding between two schools, either of which would afford her a great experience both academically and athletically, that I wouldn't endeavor to point her towards the one where she had a chance to play sooner rather than later no matter what state the school was domiciled in.  :D

Of course by then, only my spirit will still occupy the earthly realm so my influence will likely be minimal at best. 🤗

And speaking of basketball...............

Anyone have any info/ideas on any teams, players, or coaches for the upcoming season?  ;)

Please pardon the short interruption in our usual sports centered discussion....................

While it will probably cost me a ding or two, I, as other posters in the same situation in the past have been, am unable to contain myself. Accordingly, I'm overjoyed to report that my better half and I became grandparents just after 10:00 this morning when our DIL Nealy and son Mike welcomed a beautiful granddaughter. Scarlett Everly Anderson arrived at 7 lbs + 13 ozs., and measuring 19 1/2 inches.  8-)

Sorry Grandpa, not ready to go back to regularly scheduled programming yet. :P Congratulations on the new addition!

I already talked to Coach McCloskey-Bax about her recruiting class of 2038, but I didn't know there were two prospects already; I only knew about one.

Thrilled to share that my wife and I welcomed Madolyn Sophie Mitzel into the world Thursday at 8:27 pm, checking in at 20.5 inches and 7 pounds, 15 ounces! She came home around noon today and is already being watched over by big brother Matthew.

Congratulations on Madolyn Sophie - wonderful news!

A mere 13 years (or so) until dating age but way too early to get nervous about that - give yourself a couple months years.  Just sayin' . . .  ;)

The Carthage roster is up:

https://athletics.carthage.edu/sports/mens-basketball/roster

Might be more to it as only three freshmen listed, but all with good credentials.   Another son of one of Bosko's former players too.   This is a big senior class for Carthage too so they certainly have experience to put together a strong campaign.

No reason they shouldn't battle for a top three spot.
